Boulder, CO 80301 Federal Communication Commission September 10, 2002 Reference: FCC ID: OJYKAG9 Request for Confidentiality Pursuant to the Sections 0.457 and 0.459 of the Commission’s Rules, Ericsson Wireless Communications Inc. hereby requests confidentiality of certain aspects of the information accompanying this Application for Type Acceptance as specifically identified below: 1. Technical Description 2. System Block Diagram 3. Schematics All items contain trade secrets and other proprietary information not customarily released to the general public. Public disclosure of this information would be harmful to Qualcomm Incorporated at this time, and would provide unjustified benefits to our competitors. These materials contain proprietary intellectual property, and Qualcomm is on the process of filling for patent protection on many of these items. The request for confidentiality on the Installation Manuel at this time is due to licensee testing which will be conducted after the grant is issued but before the product is released to the general public. Release of the installation instructions before formal release to the general public would expose proprietary information concerning advanced operation functions. Once the product is released to the general public the FCC will be informed the confidentiality treatment of the Installation Manuel may be removed. Qualcomm understands that pursuant to Rule 0.457 disclosure of any information contained in this application will not be made before the date of grant. Regards, Keith A. Goshia Senior Regulatory Engineering Manager
Subject: RE: OJYKAG9 Date: Wed, 11 Sep 2002 11:08:06 -0500 From: "Keith A Goshia (EWU)" <[email protected]> To: "'[email protected]'" <[email protected]> Hi Dennis, Thanks for the e-mail regarding file OJYKAG9. I have sent over the tune-up procedure under the Additional Information. I will be send over the User/Operational Manual this afternoon. As for a Parts list I have a previous approval form the FCC not to include parts list in my files and that the statement "Available upon request" is satisfactory with the FCC. The parts list are in PDF form and still take close to 20MB of space. Bill Graff sent my last file in that way. I will work on a Operational Description today and get it off to ASAP. As for the photo's the external photo's and in the same document as the internal photo's. Thank you for finding the Part 24 phase in the Part 22 Document, I don't know why MS Word did not replace it during the find and replace edit. One other item I own you is the Test Set-up photo's, I have called the lab that did the testing and ask them for forward me the picture. Schematics are also going out today, most likely 9 file's 1-2 meg's in size. We need to establish a cost so that I can get a PO cut. Please include a second file to be opened OJYKAG10. This will be for the same model number but @ 1900MHz "FCC Part 24". Keith A. Goshia Senior Regulatory Engineering Manager Ericsson Wireless Communications CDMA Division 6210 Spine Rd. Please break down the parts list and tuneup procedures into files smaller than 4 meg. If they are word documents, perhaps you can convert them to pdf. Also, please note that your report refers to Part 24, but should refer to part 22 for 800MHz. thanks Dennis Ward [email protected]

OJYKAG9 Alignment/Tune-Up Procedure The RF Calibration table is an array of values which represent what the RBS1127 power sensor sees at a given output power level. This table is used for controlling the RBS1127's transmit power. The table's array elements are 0.5 dBm apart. Each element is a set point for a given power level. The software periodically reads the power sensor and slews the output power level towards a particular set point. For example, if the user configures the RBS1127 so that its transmit power is 43.0 dBm, the RBS1127 will adjust the output power so that the power sensor reading is within range of the 43.0 dBm set point.
