(FCC ID OM4 TLVUCT4K) Operating instructions Software Controller installation To operate the system, keep to the following instructions: Connect the PC Com 1serial exit to the serial outlet of the controller located on the side where the supply cable comes out. Fasten the connectors by means of the special screws. Connect the outlet of the control unit to the power mains (110 Volt 60 Hz). The special red pilot light shall signal that the unit is powered. Connect the PC to the power mains and switch it on. Keep to the instructions provided by the PC manufacturer and start the software. Many kind of software are available to operate the Controller; keep to the instruction of the software supplier. The controller shall be installed in a position visible from the whole hall; it should be placed in the middle of the hall, in an upper position. If necessary, use an extensible staff with tripods. NOTE - This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates , uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: -- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. -- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. -- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. -- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. CAUTION Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the system. Product Description EUT is a transceiver designed to be the keypad of a voting system; it works on 916.5 MHz frequency. The voting pad is composed of the following elements: a plastic container with antenna cover containing: - an electronic card with logic, transmit and receive sections (transceiver) and TX/RX antenna mounted (welded to PCB), - battery - Keyboard with 10 numeric keys (0-9) and 2 function keys. Each keypad has an identifying number from 1 to 4096. The pressing of a key records its reference number on internal memory. This equipment sends this number, identifying the pressed key, to the Televoter Controller (FCC ID: OM4 TLVUCT4K) when a voting session is opened, that is when the controller request data. The data is sent by air (radio TX mode), when the Controller carries out a polling operation on all present voters and calls up the identifying code of each voter.

The Controller of the voting system is composed of the following elements: a metal box containing: - an electronic card for the power supply and the logic - an electronic card for RF transmission and reception of data (transceiver), with No. 2 fixed antennas (welded to PCB) The Controller can recognize up to 4096 voting keypads. The equipment interrogates all available voting keypads (FCC ID: OM4TLVKPD4K) one at a time and receives from each keypad the data indicating the key/s that has/have been selected. The information is stored in the internal memory of the voting keypad. This data (identifying the voting keypad and the vote given) are sent to an outside PC through a serial port RS232 for the processing and displaying of the results. 1.2 Related Submittal(s)/Grant(s) FCC ID: OM4TLVKPD4K Test Report No. RD2000/008 FCC ID: OM4TLVUCT4K Date January 18 th , 2000 TÜV QSL 4/18 1.3 Tested System Details The FCC IDs for all equipment, plus descriptions of all cables used in the tested system (including inserted cards, which have grants) are: Model & Serial No. FCC IDDescriptionCable Descriptions US-UCT-4000 (1) s/n EMC-99-0319 OM4TLVUCT4K Televoter controller Unshielded power cord Shielded signal cable Compaq Contura 420C s/n 7534HPE53700 CNT75MB2CCNotebookUnshielded power cord Shielded signal cables Series 2862 s/n E4532433329T NoneAC adapter for notebook Unshielded power cords DM 119 s/n 3031602 DYKDM119Printer, parallel I/FUnshielded power cord Shielded signal cable Remotely connected to: US-KPD-4000 s/n 0201 OM4TLVKPD4K Televoter Voting Keypad No cable provided (1) EUT submitted for grant.
