8/12/2015 Dear Application Examiner: ProSoft Technology, Inc. is submitting this application for certification of their SR71A radio module, FCC ID: OQ7SR71A under FCC 15.247 and 15.407. It will be used in ProSoft WLAN access points Models RLX2-IHNF, RLX2-IHNF-W, RLX2-IHNF-WC. The radio meets the requirements for limited modular approval as detailed in FCC 15.212. Compliance to each of the requirements is described below: 1. “The modular transmitter must have its own RF shielding.” The radio portion of the module is contained in its own RF shielding. The shielding is installed at the factory. Please see the Internal Photos exhibit. 2. “The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs.” The EUT has buffered data inputs to insure compliance with Part 15 requirements under conditions of excessive data rates or over- modulation. Please see the Schematics exhibit. 3. “The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation.” The EUT has its own power supply regulation to insure compliance with Part 15 requirements regardless of the quality or level of external DC supplying the module from the host unit. Please see Schematics exhibit. Also, the technical report exhibit contains AC power line conducted emissions data taken with the EUT powered from a linear power supply that contains no EMC suppression components. 4. “The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirements of Section 15.203 and 15.204(c).” The EUT meets the FCC antenna requirements. Please see Antenna information exhibit and internal photos exhibit. 5. “The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration.” The EUT was tested in two host devices, the Prosoft model RLX2-IHNF and RLX2-IHN-W (also covers RLX2-IHN-Wxx). This is why limited modular approval is sought. Please see test setup photos exhibit and technical report exhibit. 6. “The modular transmitter must be labeled with its own FCC ID number.” The EUT is labeled with its own FCC ID number. Please see FCC ID label & location exhibit. If the FCC ID number will not be visible when the module is installed inside a host device, another label with the FCC ID will be applied to the exterior of the host device. 7. “The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions along with the module to explain any such requirements.” The EUT is compliant with all applicable FCC rules. Detail instructions for maintaining compliance are given in the User Manual. 8. “The modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure requirements.” The EUT is compliant with all applicable RF exposure requirements. Testing Objective: To demonstrate compliance with FCC requirements for RF exposure for 2.1091 mobile devices. Report No. PROS0222.16/9 MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE EXPOSURE (MPE) WTD.2014.12.17 OVERVIEW Human exposure to RF emissions from mobile devices (47 CFR §2.1091) may be evaluated based on the MPE limits adopted by the FCC for electric and magnetic field strength and/or power density, as appropriate, since exposures are assumed to occur at distances of 20 cm or more from persons. ANSI C95.1-2005 specifies a minimum separation distance of 20 cm for performing reliable field measurements to determine adherence to MPE limits. If the minimum separation distance between a transmitter and nearby persons is more than 20 cm under normal operating conditions, compliance with MPE limits may be determined at such distance from the transmitter. When applicable, operation instructions and prominent warning labels may be used to alert the exposed persons to maintain a specified distance from the transmitter or to limit their exposure durations and usage conditions to ensure compliance. If the use of warning labels on a transmitter is not effective or desirable, the alternative of performing SAR evaluation with the device at its closest range to persons under normal operating conditions may be used. The field strength and power density limits adopted by the FCC are based on whole-body averaged exp…

SCOPE For details on the Scopes of our Accreditations, please visit: http://www.nwemc.com/accreditations/ http://gsi.nist.gov/global/docs/cabs/designations.html Report No. PROS0219 Rev 014/141 MEASUREMENT UNCERTAINTY TMU.2014.12.03 Measurement Uncertainty When a measurement is made, the result will be different from the true or theoretically correct value. The difference is the result of tolerances in the measurement system that cannot be completely eliminated. To the extent that technology allows us, it has been our aim to minimize this error. Measurement uncertainty is a statistical expression of measurement error qualified by a probability distribution. A measurement uncertainty estimation has been performed for each test per our internal quality document WP 342. The estimation is used to compare the measured result with its "true" or theoretically correct value. The expanded measurement uncertainty (K=2) for each test is on each data sheet. Our measurement data meets or exceeds the measurement uncertainty requirements of the applicable specification; therefore, the test data can be compared directly to the specification limit to determine compliance. The calculations for estimating measurement uncertainty are based upon ETSI TR 100 028 (or CISPR 16-4-2 as applicable), and are available upon request. The following table represents the Measurement Uncertainty (MU) budgets for each of the tests that may be contained in this report.
