OPTICAL MOUSE Important Notice, please read thoroughly before using the product Recommendations about desk surface for optical mouse This product utilizes an Agilent optical IC, it is recommended to use a light color and plain desk surface to ensure a proper and correct recognition of the cursor movement, and to reduce the consumption of electricity. Desk surface with wooden patterns will cause a trembling movement of the cursor due to an improper recognition by the optic lens. On the other hand, dark colored desk surface has an important light absorbency which increases energy consumption. Optical IC provides a greater electric current intensity to recognize signal. Glistening desk surface, such as glass should be avoided, as it can’t reflect signals. Laying a blank paper sheet on the desk surface is the best way to provide a proper mouse pad for the optical mouse. Patented energy saving device To extend the battery lifespan, this product has incorporated an energy saving mechanism. Optical LED light goes out completely after a certain interval if the mouse remains in standby condition. The mouse resumes its function when it is awaken. LED light turns on immediately after shaking it gently. You can also try moving the mouse around or pressing the left or right button. Thanks to this energy saving mechanism, battery lifespan is expected to be double, depending on usage conditions. Rechargeable batteries can be used Both alkaline batteries and rechargeable batteries are recommended for use with this product. However, both types of batteries should not be mixed up and used at the same time (i.e. combining an alkaline battery with a rechargeable battery) in order to avoid risks of explosion. Using rechargeable batteries may result in reduced expense and is less harmful to the environment. Installation: 1. Battery installation: Lift the cover of the battery compartment as shown in fig. 1. Insert the alkaline batteries that are offered with the product, ensuring that the polarities are correct. Close the cover of the battery compartment. Lift the face cover to Lift the upper cover to open the battery compartment. 2. Connect the receiver that comes with the product to a USB port on the computer. LED on the receiver lights up to indicate that the PnP connection has been successful. Fig (2) 3. Setting the identification code: 3.1 Press "Setup" key on the receiver once, the LED lamp goes off. 3.2 Press "Setup" key on the mouse once, as in fig. 3. Hold the mouse and make left and right movements on the desk, the LED will light up indicating that setup has been completed, and the mouse is now working. It is advisable to use a pen tip to press it. Fig (3) Mouse 1 Fig(1 Setup key Insert Setup Key LED Light Mouse 1Mouse 2 3.3 This product features a total of 4096 sets of identification codes to avoid interference. The setup mechanism automatically generates a set of identification code every time you press the “setup” key, the mouse can only be used after the setup has completed. 1. On/off power switch On/off power switch is provided on the bottom of the mouse, as shown in fig 4. Please switch it off to save battery usage when carrying the mouse as you travel. The mouse becomes ready once the switch is turned to "on" and no identification code setting up will be necessary. This feature is not available optical mouse model GM-300.
