START GUIDE Charging The Battery Please fully charge the battery prior to using RIR-900. The battery can be charged using the AC adaptor, or by making a USB connection with a PC or MAC. It takes approximately 4hrs to fully charge the battery using either method. To Power on the unit, hold the PLAY button for 1-2 seconds. To Power off the unit, hold the PLAY button for 1-2 seconds. βIf the HOLD switch is in the ON position, all buttons are disabled and the power on/off function will NOT work. In this case, slide the HOLD switch off. Using a Memory Card When inserting a memory card in the unit, carefully insert the memory card properly (as shown in the diagram taking note of the correct side up) or you may damage the card and/or Ext card slot. βYou may need to format the memory card to the FAT file system prior to using it. Please refer the user manual for more information. How to Use Buttons * β means press the button normally, while β β means press the button and hold down for approximately 2 seconds. But, if there is external Memory, select memory by pressing A-B/REPEAT key Manual Record -- Files recorded using the RIR-900 will be encoded as MP3 files. To record Radio (FM/AM RECORD) β Select the FM/AM broadcasting station you want to record. β‘ Press the Record button as shown in the diagram on the right to start recording. When recording: --- Upper right Record LED is ON (RED). --- The screen display should change as shown when recording is in progress. --- A file for the recording is created automatically. --- The recorded file from FM radio is saved to the FM folder, and AM radio to the AM folder. *You can select the FM/AM folder by choosing NORMAL STYLE from PLAY Style. * It is recommended that recording is carried out in an area with good reception because when recording conditions are not good you may get noise/interference. Receiving FM/AM radio Use earphones to listen to FM/AM radio at the best possible sound quality, and use the antenna provided by inserting earphone jack when listening by speaker. Listening using earphones Listening using speaker and FM antenna REGULATORY INFORMATION Cautions Modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the userβs authority to operate the equipment. Procedure: The conducted emissions are measured in the shielded room with a spectrum analyzer in peak hold. While the measurement, EUT had its receiving function. Emissions closest to the limit are measured in the quasi-peak mode (QP) with the tuned receiver using a bandwidth of 9 kHz. The emissions are maximized further by cable manipulation and Exerciser operation. The highest emissions relative to the limit are listed.
