American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 July 16, 2004 RE: FCC ID: PANBT0002M-5_ATCB001496 Attention: Ellis Wu I have a few comments on this Application. Please note that further comments may arise in response to answers provided to the questions below. 1. FYI - Please note that as this is a portable device MPE is not an appropriate rf exposure evaluation. Please also note that the MPE report is not correct in that USB dongles are used within 2.5cm of the body. As this is a portable Bluetooth that is less than 5mW no rf exposure consideration need be provided. 2. Please note that the application indicates temporary confidentiality. Please also note that no temporary confidentiality letter has been provided. While a confidentiality letter for permanent or long term confidentiality has been provided, this is not the same as temporary confidentiality. If temporary confidentiality is requested for the allowable exhibits. Please note that the following exhibits cannot be held confidential - Attestation Statements, Cover letters, FCCID labels, test reports, and RF Exposure Info. Please be careful when requesting temporary confidentiality as some documents should be held confidential past the 45 days. These include block diagrams, and schematics. As these are already addressed on the confidentiality letter, they do not need to be included in the temporary confidentiality letter. 3. Please note that the manual states that a separation distance of 20cm is required for this device. Please note that this is not possible nor is it needed. As the device is less than 5mW no separation distance need be referenced in the manual. Please remove the incorrect minimum separation distance reference from the manual. 4. FYI - Please note that as this device is less than 5mw it does not require a no collocation statement in the manual. This statement should be removed from the manual. 5. Dennis Ward mailto:[email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued.
