Users Manual

TREK Max Wireless Speaker English Refer to the included Important Safety Instructions. Please read and save this Quick Start Guide, Important Safety Instructions and Warranty.For additional information, please go to TDKperformance.com.u Insert a plug by aligning and then sliding the plug on. v Remove using tweezers or other small-tipped instrument and slide off. w Connect the AC power adapter jack to the 12V DC IN jack on the side of the TREK Max and then connect the plug to a 100V-240V wall outlet. The TREK Max has a built-in rechargeable battery that will automatically be charged as long as the TREK Max is plugged in. When the TREK Max Power is on and charging, the Power indicator will light red and turn amber when fully charged.The Power indicator will fade in and out when it is in need of charging.The battery will provide approximately 8 hours of operation at normal listening level.Notes: • Each time you charge and discharge the battery (charge cycles), battery capacity slightly diminishes. Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles and need to be replaced eventually. • You may wish to replace your battery when, or before, the battery does not supply enough power to function your device. Also, proper disposal is essential from environmental and safety point of view. Putting any battery directly in the trash will harm the environment. • Do not incinerate.• Only use the supplied AC adapter.• Remove both the DC plug and AC-IN plug to disconnect AC adapter when not in use.• Disconnect the AC cord to use with DC power (rechargeable battery).Replacing the Rechargeable Battery: If the battery does not supply enough power (see note in Battery/Power Indicator box in chart below), visit www.tdkperformance.com for instructions on battery replacement. AC CONNECTION / RECHARGING THE BATTERY uvw 63953178 A The chart below defines when the indicators will light and the button operations: CONTROL BUTTONS/STATUS INDICATORS - See illustration x x Battery/Power Indicator: Indicates the battery level of charging status: Amber - Power on, full charge Blinks Red - Needs charging Red - ChargingPower Button: Press to turn the power on or off. Volume Buttons: Press to set the desired volume level. Volume Indicators: Indicates the volume level. Bluetooth Button: Press to select the Bluetooth mode. To make the unit “discoverable”, press and hold for 3 seconds until you hear a “beep” and the Bluetooth indicator will blink fast.If unable to connect within 2 minutes, the indicator will revert to blinking slowly. Bluetooth Indicator: Indicates the state when the Bluetooth source is selected: Blinks Slow: Not Paired.Blinks Fast: Discoverable and ready to pair with another device.Solid Blue: Paired with another device. Phone Button: Press to answer an incoming phone call. Press the Phone button twice to end the call. Phone Indicator: Lights amber when the phone is in use. Skip Buttons: Press the Skip/Search  or  button to skip forward or backward through songs. Press and hold the Skip/Search  or  button to search rapidly through the songs. Press the Play/Pause _   button to pause playback. Press again to resume playback. 1. With the unit on, press the Bluetooth button to select Bluetooth mode. 2. Press and hold the Bluetooth button for approximately 3 seconds until the Bluetooth indicator blinks quickly to make the speaker “discoverable”. 3. On the Bluetooth device, enable Bluetooth and select “TREK Max” from the Device List. If the Bluetooth device asks for a passkey, use “0000”. Some Bluetooth devices will ask you to accept the connection. If the units are paired properly, the speaker will beep and the Bluetooth indicator will light solid blue. If it failed, the Bluetooth indicator will blink slowly. Note: After you pair a device, this TREK Max will remember it for future use. PAIRING A BLUETOOTH DEVICE - See illustration y Insert one end of an audio cable (not included) into the LINE OUT jack on your external audio unit and the other end into the AUX IN jack on the side of the TREK Max (under flap). The Aux device will automatically be selected when the audio cable is connected. Start playback of the external unit and the external audio unit’s output sound will be heard through the TREK Max’s speakers. When connecting the AUX IN jack to the external audio device, the Play/Pause/ Skip/ Backward functions will not be able to control by the TREK Max skip buttons. USING THE AUX CONNECTOR - See illustration V NFC offers a simple setup method for your TREK speaker system. Simply turn on the TREK speaker and hold the NFC enabled device (NFC on the device must be “on”) within a few centimeters of the NFC symbol on top of the TREK speaker to pair and establish a Bluetooth connection. It’s just that simple. PAIRING WITH NFC (Requires NFC Enabled Phone) - See illustration U y The TREK Max is splash resistant, but cannot be submerged in water or be subjected to a constant flow of water. In order to ensure the product is splash resistant, close the rubber flap on the side of the TREK Max. To properly close flap, fully insert center rubber dongle (on inside of flap) into the DC IN jack until flap center is flush. Insert the other dongle into the USB jack, then smooth out entire flap until flap is flush with the sides of the TREK Max. SPLASH RESISTANT - See illustration W If the TREK Max has no audio signal, and/or a USB device is not charging, for 20 minutes, the TREK Max will turn itself off. To “wake” the TREK Max, simply press the Power button. AUTO POWER OFF When receiving a phone call on your paired Bluetooth device, press the Phone button to answer (it will light amber) and use the built-in microphone on this TREK Max to take the call. Press twice to disconnect/end the call. ANSWERING A PHONE CALL Connect your device via USB to the USB jack on the TREK Max (under flap).
