FCC ID: PC6YM-1031K 731 Confirmation No.: EA102780 Correspondence Reference No.: 21485 Request for Tech. Info.: 12/13/01 Dear Andy: Transmitted herewith, on behalf of Yiso Telecom Co., Ltd., is an amendment provided in response to the request for technical information dated December 13, 2001. 1. Please find attached the Z-axis scan SAR Data for the highest SAR. 2. Our probe is calibrated at 1900MHz for both brain and muscle. Please find the attached calibration information. Since our phantom is not glycol proof we used a brain simulating tissue with the same permittivity as the new standard but with a higher conductivity. This will lead to an over estimation of SAR. 3. Please find attached the liquid temperatures during all test and validations. 4. We would like to inform that we recalculated the SAR values at 55.19 & 0.975, listed below are the following measurement. a. 824.70 0.978 b. 836.49 1.20 c. 848.31 1.05 5. We would like to confirm that the phantom thickness is 2mm. 6. Please find attached the revised Operational Description. We trust this information is sufficient for the immediate grant of this application. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. cc: Standard Telecom Co., Ltd.

(c) 1992 by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc., New York, New York 10017.[2] The measurement procedure described in IEEE/ANSI C95.3-1992 Recommended Practice for the Measurement of Potentially Hazardous Electromagnetic Fields - RF and Microwave[3] is used for guidance in measuring SAR due to the RF radiation exposure from the Equipment Under Test (EUT). These criteria for SAR evaluation are similar to those recommended by the National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP) in Biological Effects and Exposure Criteria for Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Fields,” NCRP Report No. 86 (c) NCRP, 1986, Bethesda, MD 20814.[5] SAR is a measure of the rate of energy absorption due to exposure to an RF transmitting source. SAR values have been related to threshold levels for potential biological hazards. 2.2 SAR Definition Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) is defined as the time derivative (rate) of the incremental energy (dU) absorbed by (dissipated in) an incremental mass (dm) contained in a volume element (dV) of a given density ( ρ ). It is also defined as the rate of RF energy absor…

The site address is 6660-B Dobbin Road, Columbia, MD 21045. The test site is one of the highest points in the Columbia area with an elevation of 390 feet above mean sea level. The site coordinates are 39° 11'15" N latitude and 76° 49'38" W longitude. The facility is 1.5 miles North of the FCC laboratory, and the ambient signal and ambient signal strength are approximately equal to those of the FCC laboratory. There are no FM or TV transmitters within 15 miles of the site. The detailed description of the measurement facility was found to be in compliance with the requirements of § 2.948 according to ANSI C63.4 on October 19, 1992. Measurement Procedure The radiated and spurious measurements were made outdoors at a 3-meter test range (see Figure2). The equipment under testing was placed on a wooden turntable, 3-meters from the receive antenna. The receive antenna height and turntable rotations was adjusted for the highest reading on the receive spectrum analyzer. A half- wave dipole was substituted in place of the EUT. This dipole antenna was driven by a signal generator and the level of the signal generator was adjusted to obtain the same receive spectrum analyzer reading. This level was recorded. For readings above 1 GHZ, the above procedure would be repeated using horn antennas and the difference between the gain of the horn and an isotropic antenna are taken into consideration. Figure 1.
