June 4, 2001 Re: EUG DJ-X3T Cellular Exclusion To Whom It May Concern, In accordance with F.C.C. Rules and Regulations, Part 15.121, Alinco model number EUGDJ-X3T Receivers will have the following CPU installed in all U.S.version units that will display the “T” identifier at the end of the model number. CPU parts number : manufacturer’s code M38227 Alinco’s code XA0836 This CPU has been specially designed to exclude, both display and actual reception of the US cellular phone frequencies, and only this CPU will be used for the production of US “T” version models. This CPU can’t be manipulated in any way, whether by software or hardware, to enhance or modify the band plan of the EUG DJ-X3T to receive the U.S. cellular bands per F.C.C. Rules and Regulations (15.121). Once the CPU is burned with this restricted protocol at the CPU manufacturer’s factory, there is no way to change the data without destroying the CPU. In addition, the circuit has been specially designed to reject the image reception of the cellular telephone band (image reception frequencies 327.100 to 353.0975 and 372.100 to 398.0975MHz) with using the band-pass filter at the front-end for these particular ranges.
