Scope This document provides a description of the LTE Synergy product. 2. Synergy (Base Station) A Base station radio, Synergy 2000- Band 43 TDD LTE, is part of a LTE broadband fixed cellular wireless access system. The system provides a radio link between an end-user (a subscriber) and a network to give high-speed data access. The Synergy’s’ transceiver/receiver (Up to 64 QAM modulation, data rate up to 150 Mbps) uses OFDM and operating in TDD mode, equipped with a 2 dBi external antenna. The maximum total RF output power (not including antenna gain) is 34.91 dBm and it can be reduced by software. The Synergy is installed outdoors and typically is mounted on a pole. The Subscriber transmits and receives traffic to and from the base station respectively. The transceiver provides subscribers with "always-on" Internet, high speed data only, or data and voice (VoIP) services and is configured with a unique base station reference number, preventing the LTE UE from relocating to another subscriber premises without authorization. . 2.1. EUT (Air4G) test configuration The EUT ports and lines description is given in the table below. Company name: Airspan Networks Inc. Address: 777 Yamato Road Suite 310 Boca Raton FL 33431 USA FCC ID:PIDSYN3650 Synergy 2000 3.7 GHz (B43) tune up procedure Each Synergy radio has been tested by an automatic testing station (which is calibrated weekly for accuracy), which calibrates the unit prior to testing. Each Synergy contains 2 transmitters therefore each in turn is calibrated by the station for RF output power accuracy. The calibration is then verified by transmitting on the RF output power approved for each frequency checking that it does not exceed the maximum allowed by the FCC. For each frequency there is an internal software limit value that prevents the User from exceeding that RF output power setting. In the event the RF output power is higher than specified in the System Description, the Synergy radio doesn’t pass and acquires a Fail status. The Synergy boards with Fail statuses are rejected for final assembly of the product. The NMS management program also has internal specific FCC output limits that further checks and verifies maximum RF power output and prevents transmition above the FCC limits. Airspan Networks Inc. FCC ID:PIDSYN3650 Page 1 of 1 Environmental evaluation and exposure limit according to FCC CFR 47part 1, §1.1307, §1.1310 The transceiver is classified as fixed, the calculation was done to confirm a safe distance. Limit for power density for general population/uncontrolled exposure is 1 mW/cm 2 for 1500 -100000 MHz frequency range. The power density P (mW/cm 2 ) = P T / 4 r 2 , where P T is the transmitted power, which is equal to the peak transmitter output power plus maximum antenna gain. The maximum equivalent isotropically radiated power EIRP is P T = 34.91 dBm + 2 dBi = 36.91 dBm = 4909 mW, where 34.91 dBm is the EUT maximum output power, 2 dBi – antenna gain. The minimum safe distance “r”, where RF exposure does not exceed FCC permissible limit, is r = sqrt { P T / (Px4)} = sqrt {4909 / 12.56} = 19.8 cm ≈ 20 cm. General public cannot be exposed to dangerous RF level.
