American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 April 29, 2006 RE: FCC ID: QT5-CDPR22_ATCB003426 Attention: Toyokazu Imamura / Kanako Sanda I have a few comments on this Application. Please note that further comments may arise in response to answers provided to the questions below. 1. FYI – Please note that the dwell time reference to the 22 channels over 8.8 seconds instead of the 30 seconds used, shows the dwell time to be closer to 110ms than 98ms. Please use the appropriate time references in the standard when calculating dwell time for FHSS devices. 2. Please note that the report states “peak” power on page 26 of the report but it does not indicate if the power meter was in fact a peak or average power meter. Please explain. 3. Please note that 15,247(a)(1) states, “The system receivers shall have input bandwidths that match the hopping channel bandwidths of their corresponding transmitters and shall shift frequencies in synchronization with the transmitted signals”. Please provide the required information showing the receiver bandwidth meets this requirement. If this information is in the operational or other documentation, please point to the pages for reference. 4. Please note that the conducted out of band data only shows the device when evidently hopping stopped. As this type device can produce considerable spurious emissions during hopping enabled, please provide data showing compliance with hopping enabled. This is especially important for the band edges. 5. Please note that radiated emissions appears to only have been tested in hopping stopped mode. Please note that as mentioned in item 3, this type device can produce considerable spurious emissions. As the radiated emissions in hopping stopped only shows a less than 3dB margin to the limit, please provide compliance data for radiated spurious emissions with hopping enabled. Please pay close attention to the restricted bands. 6. Please provide a manual with the required 20cm separation distance information. 7. Please note that this device is a frequency hopping device and not a single channel device. Thus the ‘1’ in A1D is not correct. Please note that final three characters of the emissions designator would more appropriately be ‘AXD’. Please provide an IC app form using the appropriate emissions’ designator. 8. Please provide the full emissions designator on the IC app form (i.e. for this device 1M53AXD). 9. Please note that this also appears to have a receiver. Please provide the receiver emissions level on the OC app form. Dennis Ward mailto:[email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the sender.
15 May, 2006 RE: FCC ID: QT5-CDPR22_ATCB003426 Attention: Mr. Dennis Ward Dear Mr. Dennis Ward, Please find the following our reply to your comments; 1. We sampled rising times in 30 seconds, and calculated rising times in 1 second and multiplied by 8.8 seconds; then, calculated by multiplying by the measured rising times. We added the calculation method on Page 25 in the revised test report. 2. We performed the measurement by Peak detection. Please confirm Page 26 in the revised test report. 3. This system employs homodyne system; therefore, the receiver input bandwidth is the same as the transmitting frequency operation. We added this description on Page 4 in the revised test report. 4. We performed the additional test for your comment. Please find the additional test data in the revised test report. 5. We performed the additional test for your comment. Please find the additional test data in the revised test report. 6. Please find attached revised user manual. 7. Please find the revised IC application form. 8. Please also find the revised IC application form. 9. Please confirm the revised Appendix II. In addition, all testing was conducted under continuous transmission/reception operation mode in the test report. We found incorrect information in the test report; thus, we made appropriate corrections to the operation mode from transmission to transmission/reception. Thank you very much for your prompt attention. Best regards, Kanako Sanda (Ms.) Head Office EMC Lab. TEL +81-596-24-8116 / FAX +81-596-24-8095 E-mail: [email protected]

Applicant: Alps Electric Co., Ltd. T ype of Equipment : Label Printer Model No. : CDPR22 FCC ID: QT5-CDPR22 Alps Electric Co., Ltd. declares that Model : Label Printer complies with FCC radiation exposure requirement specified in the FCC Rules 2.1091. The “CDPR22“ has 42.27 mW of conducted Peak Output power and 63.97 mW of EIRP. The Following calculation is the reference data for 20cm distance for mobile use. RF Exposure Calculations: The following information provides the minimum separation distance for the highest gain antenna provided with the “CDPR22“ as calculated from FCC OET Bulletin 65 Appendix A, Table (B) Limits for General Population / Uncontrolled Exposure. This calculation is based on the highest EIRP possible from the system, considering maximum power and antenna gain, and considering a 1.0mW/cm^2 uncontrolled exposure limit. The Friis formula used was: S = (P * G) / (4 * π * r 2 ) Where P = 42.27 mW (Maximum peak output power) G = 1.51 Numerical Antenna gain; equal 1.80 dBi r =20.0 cm For: CDPR22S = 0.01273 mW/cm 2 RF Exposure for Mobile use No. : 26BE0051-HO-F1
