These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Labeling of the End Product The end product to integrate this module has to be clearly identified on the label that this end product contains an FCC approved RF module. The format of such statement could be "Contains Transmitter with FCC ID: R68WIPORT" or similar. Integration Note a) This module is authorized under limited module approval specified to mobile host equipment. So, the antenna must be installed such that a minimum of 20cm is maintained between the antenna and users. b) The transmitter module may not be co-located with any other transmitter or antenna. As long as the 2 conditions above are met, further transmitter testing will not be required. However, the OEM integrator is still responsible for testing their end-product for any additional compliance requirements required with this module installed (for example, digital device emission, PC peripheral requirements, etc.) Note 2: In the event that these conditions can not be met (for example certain laptop configurations, general purpose PCMCIA or similar cards, or co-location with another transmitter), then the FCC authorization is no longer considered valid and the FCC ID can not be used on the final product (including the transmitter) and obtaining a separate FCC authorization. Note 3: Changes or modifications to this device not explicitly approved by Lantronix will void the user's authority to operate this device. Provide diagram and/or statement showing how the wireless device is considered a portable device. Refer to “WBX2100 in Tote Photo” exhibit. This shows how the end user will install the wireless device. A medical technician can place the tote in one place or carry the tote around. The cover on the tote can be open during wireless transmission and the user can be closer than 20cm from the transmitting antenna. In this configuration there is a possibility that the antenna can be touched by the end user even though the user’s guide suggest not to do this.
December 13, 2005 American TCB 6731 Whittier Ave., Suite C110 McLean, VA 22101 Gentlemen: The attached documentation is provided in support of a formal submission to your organization for a limited modular approval of a “Portable” intentional unlicensed transmitter. On behalf of our client, Aegis Labs has included an application for a Grant of Equipment Authorization pursuant to Subpart C of part 15 of FCC Rules (47 CFR) regarding intentional radiators. The data within the test report demonstrates the equipment was tested in a manner described under Part 2 and 15 of the Code of Federal Regulations. This approval is for a Wireless Device Server (MN: WBX2100, FCC ID: R68WIIBATT), which is a Wireless Embedded Device Server that provides a network-enabling solution based on the IEEE 802.11b wireless standard. WiBatt allows Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to add wireless connectivity to their products by incorporating it onto a circuit board. For this submission the end product will be installed in a manner in which the transmitting antenna may be any distance from the human body. The configuration tested for this submission was with a Wanshih (PN: WSS002) antenna continuously transmitting and receiving from the antenna port.
