To: Mike Kuo Subject: RE: Communication Machinery Corporation, FCC ID:RCX-EE11ABG, AN03T3202 The following below is from the client themselves. Regarding Question #1: A. Correct, no change is required to the hardware. The same hardware is used for any configured feature key. B. Correct, No change in bandwidth and output power. The frequency will stay within the 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g spectrum. C. Correct. Regarding Question #2: There are system parameters in the product such as setting of 'ctsmode' which can be used to maximize a specific 802.11g test. In general, the method a test is maximized is via the layer 2 protocol or above. This command sets what is referring to as CTS protection mode. If configured with option 'always' or 'auto' a CTS frame can be sent to ensure the airwaves are clear before sending a data frame. The test could optimize performance by turning off ('none') ctsmode. Please let me know if you need more information With this command the options are: - 'always' meaning issue a CTS (Clear To Send) frame before each data frame - 'auto' meaning issue a CTS frame when an 802.11b device is detected - 'none' meaning never use CTS -----Original Message----- From: Mike Kuo Sent: Wednesday, August 27, 2003 2:14 PM To: 'Kyle Fujimoto' Subject: FW: Communication Machinery Corporation, FCC ID:RCX-EE11ABG, AN03T3202 -----Original Message----- From: CERTADM Sent: Wednesday, August 27, 2003 2:13 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: Communication Machinery Corporation, FCC ID:RCX-EE11ABG, AN03T3202 Notice_content ------------- Question #1: Based upon the information given in the page 1-1 of user manual, this device can be configured as 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11a/b and 802.11 a/b/g radio via feature key. Such feature key can be upgraded based upon the usage. Based upon this understanding, please confirm the following : A. Regardless which feature key will be used, there is no chan ge in hardware on FCC ID:MCLJ07H06903 transmitter module. B. Such feature key will not change the radio characteristics in term of bandwidth, output power and operating frequencies. C. Such feature key can only be used with CMC Emulation engine and will not be sold or use with any other CMC products or manufacturers. Question #2: Please explain the statement in page 1-1 of user manual " it allows a user to finetune system parameters in order to maximize performance during testing." Best Regards Mike Kuo The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information within 30 days of the original e-mail date may result in application dismissal and forfeiture of the filing fee. NOTE ON THE SCHEMATICS The schematics for the RF portion of the EUT is covered under the FCC-ID: MCLJ07H06903. The other boards and PCBβs on the EUT are digital circuitry only (not part of the intentional radiator portion), so the schematics need not be provided for these boards. Please see the Internal picture exhibit for where the module will be mounted on the EUT.
