WFM-1 Wireless Floor Mat Transmitter User Manual The WFM-1 Wireless Floor Mat alarm transmitter works together with a pressure sensitive floor mat to send an alarm to a WR-1 or WR-2 Alarm Receiver when pressure is exerted on mat. This is to give caregiver warning that someone may try to exist a door way. 1. Installation 1.1 Connect the transmitter to the power cable of the floor mat. 1.2 Properly put the transmitter into the pocket of the floor mat. Keep the connecting cable as far way from the transmitter as possible 1.3 Program the transmitter ID into the WR-2 receiver. Refer to the Operation Procedure of WR-2 Receiver. 1.4 Position the floor mat in front of the door exit. 1.5 Test completion of installation by stepping over the mat to trigger an alarm. 1.6 Test opening and closing of doors to make sure that there is no obstruction to freely opening of doors. 2. Normal Operation 2.1 Do not put objects on top of mat surface. Doing this will defeat the alarm function. 2.2 Unplug the power cable if the alarm function is not required for a long period of time. 3. WFM-1 Wireless Floor Mat transmitter Principle of operation The WFM-1 Wireless Floor Mat Transmitter monitors the state of a pressure sensitive floor mat. When a pressure is exerted on the mat, the transmitter will transmit an alarm signal with an ID to give alert that someone is trying to go out an exit. The RF transmitter is a ChipCon CC1050 RF transmit only chip. The chip is programmed to work at 915Mhz ISM band and data rate is approximately 1K baud. DATA is encoded in Manchester format. The logic functions are controlled by a EMP78C138 micro controller unit (MCU) which communicates with the RF chip via IIC bus. The MCU is normally in Sleep mode for power saving purpose. When pressure is exerted on the mat, a signal will generate an interrupt to wake up the MCU. The MCU will then send out an alarm signal with an unique ID code to the Alarm Receiver. To ensure that the alarm is received, the same signal will be sent five times.
