190 s. whisman road, bldg. b | mountain view, ca 94041 | tel: 650.967.4047 | fax: 413.581.6020 | www.aerielle.com January 12, 2010 Federal Communications Commission 7435 Oakland Mills Road Columbia, MD 21046-1609 To Whom It May Concern: The 2.4 GHz RF module FCC ID: RKVSAM200TR is seeking FCC authorization as a module transceiver. The EUT meets the requirements for modular approval as details in FCC Public Notice DA 001407 ‘Part 15 Unlicensed Modular Transmitter Approval’. Compliance to each of the requirements is described below: 1) All shielding necessary to comply with the emission requirements and limits of Part 15 is provided on the RKVSAM200TR module at the time of manufacture. No additional shielding is required to meet these requirements. 2) All user modulation/data inputs are buffered by either the CODEC or the embedded controller incorporated into the RKVSAM200TR module. 3) The RKVSAM200TR module contains on-board voltage regulators to regulate the supplied battery voltage down to the voltages required for module operation. 4) The RKVSAM200TR module will always be used with one of a family of approved antennas. The antenna is of either a printed PCB type, or an approved external antenna permanently attached to the device enclosure. In none of these cases is the antenna or cable/connector accessible to the end user. All approved antennas have been tested with the radio module as part of the modular approval, with test results included in the application report. Any antennas added to the approved family of antennas will be done through a Class II permissive change. 5) The RKVSAM200TR module is battery operated, and was tested for compliance in a stand-alone configuration as shown in the application report. 190 s. whisman road, bldg. b | mountain view, ca 94041 | tel: 650.967.4047 | fax: 413.581.6020 | www.aerielle.com 6) A label containing the FCC ID of the RKVSAM200TR module will be attached to the module. As the module will be incorporated into the enclosure of the host device and not visible to the end user, the statement “Contains FCC ID: RKVSAM200TR” will appear on the external label attached to the product containing the radio module. The specifics of this labeling requirement are outlined in the supplied product manual. 7) All parameters determining compliance with the emission requirements of Part 15 are controlled by a microprocessor embedded into the RKVSAM200TR module. Selection of RF functions under user control is limited to Transmit/Receive and the selection of one of eight predetermined RF channels. 8) The RKVSAM200TR Radio module complies with all applicable Part 15 RF Exposure requirements, as demonstrated in the application Test Report. Please advise if any additional explanation is required. Regards, John Glissman Chief Technical Officer Aerielle Technologies, Inc.

The FCC Identifier shall be preceded by the term FCC ID in capital letters on a single line, and shall be of a type size large enough to be legible without the aid of magnification. Example: FCC ID: XXX123. Where: XXX—Grantee Code, 123—Equipment Product Code As per FCC §15.19, (a) In addition to the requirements in part 2 of this chapter, a device subject to certification, or verification shall be labeled as follows: (3) All other devices shall bear the following statement in a conspicuous location on the device: This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. (4) Where a device is constructed in two or more sections connected by wires and marketed together, the statement specified above is required to be affixed only to the main control unit. If the EUT is integrated within another device then a label affixed to the host shall also state, “Contains FCC ID: XXXXXX” (5) When the device is so small or for such use that it is not practicable to place the statement specified under paragraph (a) of this section on it, the information required by this paragraph shall be placed in a prominent location in the instruction manual or pamphlet supplied to the user or, alternatively, shall be placed on the container in which the device is marketed.
