FCC ID: RLQPGCHF01 Circuit Description The 17.6MHz (x5 to 88.04)MHz crystal oscillator drives the base of Q3 the final/buffer amplifier. The modulation provided by Mic. The output of Q3 has the matching network consisting of L1 and C12 that limit the harmonic content and effect the proper coupling of the antenna to the output stage. Antenna, Ground and Power Source There is no external atenna. There is no external ground connection. The ground is only that of the printed circuit board. Electric current is supplied by a 3 Volt (“CR2032” size battery x 1) primary battery

The test report shows data for one operating frequency (88.04MHz). According to FCC Rule 15.33 (m), Intentional radiators that operate/tune over more than 10MHz need to be tested at 3 operating frequencies, one at the bottom of the band, one at the center and one at the top of the band. Please provide data for compliance with FCC 15.239 (a) and (b) for the appropriate number of operating ‘channels’. If this device only operates at 2 channels then please submit the data for those 2 channels. Please describe more detail how this audio (FM) modulated device was modulated during the Bandwidth test to ensure that the maximum bandwidth was captured in the plot, and how the EUT operating channel is changed. Additionally, the Label submitted contains the statement required by FCC 15.19. However the label location has a different formatted label, which does not incorporate the 15.19 statement. Based on the size of the device you can request that the 15.19 statement be located in the Users Manual. Please be sure that the label, label location and Users manual information are consistent, and that if you wish to place the 15.19 statement in the Users Manual, that you submit a request to do this based on the small physical size of the EUT. Please submit the corrected information requested above so that the application review can be completed. Best regards, Chris Harvey EMC Lab Director MET Laboratories, Inc. 1-800-638-6057 x-310

You have submitted a new bandwidth plot but not answered the question of how the device was modulated (was it with a loud voice or signal generator, what frequency tone, what level of tone). 1 Chris Harvey From:Chris Harvey Sent:Thursday, October 23, 2003 1:37 PM To:'alice_wong'; Chris Harvey Cc:EED - Choy, Kitty; K C Lee@hkstc; Marianne Bosley Subject:RE: TCB Application FCC ID: RA5PGCHF01 MT#14533 Alice, the response satisfies all but one of the remaining open issues with this application. There is a problem with the Grantee Code RA5. This Grantee Code does not exist in the FCC database, which means that the FCC ID is not valid. Is it possible that the Grantee Code was filed for, but the fee was never paid? From earlier, the Label submitted contains the statement required by FCC 15.19. This still needs to be addressed. Please note, the following statement in FCC 15.215, which is stated as a recommendation and not a requirement: If a frequency stability is not specified in the regulations, it is recommended that the fundamental emission be kept within at least the central 80% of the permitted band in order to minimize the possibility of out-of-band operation. The operation at 88.04MHz with a 67.5kHz bandwidth does not meet this recommendation, although this does not violate the regulation. Please forward this information to the manufacturer so they can develop future products with this in consideration. We will await a response to these issues.
