Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference; and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio com- munications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: β’ Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna (that is, the antenna for radio or television that is βreceivingβ the interference. β’ Reorient or relocate and increase the separation between the telecommunications equip- ment and receiving antenna. β’ Connect the telecommunications equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiving antenna is connected. β’Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. FCC RF Radiation Exposure Statement The installation of the base unit should allow at least 20 centimeter between the base and persons in compliance with FCC RF exposure guidelines. For body worn operation, the portable part (handset) has been tested and meets FCC RF exposure guidelines. This device must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. The changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void userβs authority to operate the equipment. A compliant telephone cord and modular plug is provided with this product. It is designed to be connected to a compatible modular jack that is also compliant. See installation instructions for details. d) The REN is used to determine the number of devices that may be connected to a telephone line. Excessive RENs on a telephone line may result in the devices not ringing in response to an incoming call. In most but not all areas, the sum of RENs should not exceed five (5.0). To be certain of the number of devices that may be connected to a line, as determined by the total RENs, contact the local telephone company. [For products approved after July 23, 2001, the REN for this product is part of the product identifier that has the format US:AAAEQ##TXXXX. The digits represented by ## are the REN without a decimal point (e.g., 03 is a REN of 0.3). For earlier products, the REN is separately shown on the label.] e) If this equipment XD6451;XHB401 causes harm to the telephone network, the telephone company will notify you in advance that temporary discontinuance of service may be required. INTERTEK TESTING SERVICES FCC ID: S9ADECT34-S37TAM RF exposure - 1 of 1 For Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) evaluation of the base unit, the maximum power density at 20 cm from this mobile transmitter shall be less than the General Population / Uncontrolled MPE limit in OET Bulletin 65. For the base unit of tested model of XD6451, the maximum field strength measured (FS) was 111.4 dBΞΌV/m. The distance (D) between the antenna and the equipment under test (EUT) was 3 meters. And the maximum source-based time-averaging duty factor in five-handsets operation is 25%. From these data, the exposed power density at a distance (R) of 20cm from the center of radiation of the antenna can be calculated according to OET Bulletin 65 as follow: The radiated power = (FS*D) 2 / 30 = 41.41 mW The radiated (EIRP) source-based time-averaging output power = (41.41 * 0.250) mW = 10.35 mW The power density at 20 cm from the antenna = EIRP / 4ΟR 2 = 0.0021 mW cm -2 In the frequency range of 1,500 - 100,000MHz, the MPE limit is 1.0 mWcm -2 for general population and uncontrolled exposure. As the measured power density at 20cm from the transmitter is lower than the MPE limit, the compliance to the MPE limit can be ensured by indicating the minimum 20cm separation between the transmitter's radiating structures and body of the user or nearby persons. The following RF exposure statement is proposed to be included in the user manual: β FCC RF Radiation Exposure Statement Caution: To maintain compliance with the FCCβs RF exposure guidelines, place the base unit at least 20cm from nearby persons.β
