Besides, as for BT portion, please refer to Application-Amanda's email dated Apr. 18 for details. Thank you and Best regards Amanda Dear Lucy Tsai: I have preformed the review of the above TCB application (GPRS Pt. 22/24 portion) and find that the following items need to be addressed before the application review can be completed: 1. This Notebook PC apparently has a collocated Intel WLAN Module (according to the Label and manual exhibits this is FCC ID: PD9WM3945ABG). This collocated situation is not completely documented in this application. What antenna is being used with the WLAN module and has this antenna been approved for use with the Intel WLAN module? Ans: The antenna is PIFA which has been certified under Intel FCC ID:PD9WM3945ABG. Please refer to attached Intel authorization letter for details. <charvey- [email protected]> 2006/04/18 12:09 AM 收件人: <[email protected]> 副本抄送: <[email protected]> 主旨: UNIWILL COMPUTER CORP., FCC ID: SAZ-GUBTCRQ2426, Assessment NO.: AN06T5664, Notice#1 2. Page 2 of the Agency Regulatory Notices portion of the user's manual has a typo (missing the PD9 Grantee code) in the WLAN FCC ID that must be corrected. Please submit the revised Manual. Ans: User manual revised as attached. 3. Please provide an RF Exposure exhibit (SAR or MPE as applicable) and antenna position diagram/photo that documents the position of the antennas for this device with respect to the other antennas and the users. Are all antennas at least 20cm from the other antennas and from the user? If this device is Portable (<20cm separation to the user) then SAR testing may be required for the WLAN and/or GPRS and Bluetooth transmissions. If the antennas are within 20cm from each other then collocated RF Exposure may be required. Ans: Antennas of WLAN and GPRS located are at least 20cm from user that SAR evulation testing are not required. Please refer to revised EUT internal photos-1 for details. Please note that if the Intel WLAN module in this device uses an antenna that was not approved for use with the module, or if the WLAN antenna is collocated (within 20cm) with the GPRS or Bluetooth antenna, then a Class II Permissive Change application may be required for the Intel WLAN module. Ans: The antenna has already been certified under Intel WLAN FCC ID: PD9WM3945ABG and it's not necessary to do additonal Class II permissive change. Please refer to attached Intel authorization letter for details. 4. Please provide the following exhibits for the GPRS Portion of this device: Schematic Diagram for the RF portion Technical Operational Description for this GPRS operation of this device (exhibit provided has just a simple block diagram) Tune-Up Procedure Parts List DC Voltages/Currents for the RF portion Block Diagram for the RF portion Ans: Please refer to Mike's email for above documents because the documents were sent to Mike directly by the GPRS manufacturer. 5. The RF Test report has some data with the high channel of 848.7 MHz and some with 848.8 MHz. Please clarify the center frequency of the high channel and ensure that the test data shows compliance with all requirements of FCC Pt. 22. Ans: 848.7MHz is the correct frequecy of high channel, please have the revised test report. The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information within 30 days of the original e-mail date may result in application dismissal and forfeiture of the filing fee. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Report No.: 60313103-RP2 FCC ID: SAZ-GUBTCRQ2426 Date of Issue: April 8, 2006 Page 5 Rev. 00 3. TEST METHODOLOGY Both conducted and radiated testing were performed according to the procedures document on chapter 13 of ANSI C63.4 and FCC CFR 47, 2.1046, 2.1047, 2.1049, 2.1051, 2.1053, 2.1055 and 2.1057. 3.1 EUT CONFIGURATION The EUT configuration for testing is installed on RF field strength measurement to meet the Commissions requirement and operating in a manner that intends to maximize its emission characteristics in a continuous normal application. 3.2 EUT EXERCISE The EUT was operated in the engineering mode to fix the TX frequency that was for the purpose of the measurements. 3.3 GENERAL TEST PROCEDURES Conducted Emiss…

APPENDIX RADIO FREQUENCY EXPOSURE LIMIT According to §15.247(i), systems operating under the provisions of this section shall be operated in a manner that ensures that the public is not exposed to radio frequency energy levels in excess of the Commission's guidelines. See § 1.1307(b)(1) of this chapter. EUT Specification EUT NOTEBOOK PC Frequency band (Operating) GPRS: 850MHz / 1900 MHz Device category Portable (<20cm separation) Mobile (>20cm separation) Others Exposure classification Occupational/Controlled exposure (S = 5mW/cm2) General Population/Uncontrolled exposure (S=1mW/cm2) Antenna diversity Single antenna Multiple antennas Tx diversity Rx diversity Tx/Rx diversity Max. output power 850 MHz: 26.03dBm (400.87mW) 1900 MHz: 27.03dBm(504.66mW) ANTENNA GAIN (MAX) 850 MHz: -0.54 dBi (Numeric gain: 0.883) 1900 MHz: 2.31 dBi (Numeric gain: 1.702) Evaluation applied MPE Evaluation SAR Evaluation N/A Remark: 1. The maximum output power is 26.03dBm (504.66mW) at 824.20MHz (with 0.883 numeric antenna gain.) 2. The maximum output power is 27.03dBm (504.66mW) at 1850.20MHz (with 1.702 numeric antenna gain.) 3. DTS device is not subject to routine RF evaluation; MPE estimate is used to justify the compliance. 4. For mobile or fixed location transmitters, no SAR consideration applied. The minimum separation generally be used is at least 20 cm, even if the calculations indicate that the MPE distance would be lesser. TEST RESULTS No non-compliance noted. Calculation Given d GP E ×× = 30 & 3770 2 E S = Where E = Field Strength in Volts / meter P = Power in Watts G=Numeric antenna gain d=Distance in meters S=Power Density in milliwatts / square centimeter Combining equations and re-arranging the terms to express the distance as a function of the remaining variables yields: S GP d × ×× = 3770 30 Changing to units of mW an…
