Bowman Drive Buford, GA 30518 Re: FCC ID: SDBGFL3 To Whom It May Concern: The following application is submitted on behalf of our client, Sensus Metering Systems, Inc., for evaluation of their model GFL3 for certification under FCC Part 24 Subpart D and Part 101 Subpart C. The purpose of this application is to modular approve the GFL3 transceiver. The GFL3 is a stand-alone module consisting of a single printed circuit board which is designed to be integrated into specific host devices. The FCC ID: SDBGFL3 was tested for two different TCXO models (TEW and KDS) and the data for the variant leading to the highest emissions is reported in the certification report. For the radiated emissions evaluation, the GFL3 was tested in the orientation of typical installation. The GFL3 was tested in full to the requirements of the aforementioned rules and was found to be in compliance. Sincerely, Sam Wismer Vice President, Technology Advanced Compliance Solutions, Inc.

The device communicates via the Sensus FlexNet fixed wireless telemetry network to provide application specific information to utilities and customers end-users. The device transmits status information automatically at a programmable periodic rate and also is triggered by specific events from the utility or metering interface. This printed board contains a power supply, microprocessor, transceiver, and power amplifier necessary to communicate over the FlexNet system. The device will be powered by a battery pack, capable of providing energy for the nominal number of years of service as well as capable of supplying the peak transmission currents. Preliminary evaluations were performed on both model variants for both RF conducted and radiated emissions measurements and the model variants leading to the worst case results was used for the final measurements. The unit was powered using a 3.6 V DC power source. The RF conducted measurements were performed using a sample with a temporary sma connector at the antenna port. The radiated emissions evaluations were performed up to the 10 th harmonic with the unit set in the orientation of typical installation. The evaluation for unintentional emission is documented separately in a verification reโ€ฆ
