It communicates via the standard 802.11a/b/g protocols. The WAPA003 uses the AR5414 wireless chipset from Atheros. This module is connected to the PCI bus through a Mini-PCI connector and special circuitry to allow for compatibility with either 3.3V or 5V PCI signaling. . Features y All-CMOS single chip for IEEE 802.11a/b/g compatible WLANs y No external VCOs or SAW filters needed y Baseband in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) signals, converts them to the desired frequency, and drives the RF signal off-chip y Integrated low-noise amplifier (LNA) y External PA and/or LNA can be used for special applications y Advanced wideband receiver with best path sequencer for better range and multipath resistance than conventional equalizer-based designs y Extended tuning range (2.300-2.500 & 4.900-5.850 GHz) for worldwide use y High speed UART with DMA supports data rates up to 1 Mbps WAPA003 Userโs Manual Introduction Specification Features WAPA003 Chipset Atheros AR5414 Receive Sensitivity 802.11b :-84dBm(typically) 802.11a/g : -80dBm(typically) Baseband Processor (BBP) ฬ 802.11b support rate: 1M, 2M, 5.5M, 11M bps ฬ 802.11a/g support rate : 6M, 9M, 12M,18M,24M, 36M, 48M, 54M bps ฬ Modulation scheme: BPSK, QPSK, 16 QAM, 64 QAM, DBPSK,DQPSK, and CCK ฬ 802.11e-compatible bursting ฬ Support for draft IEEE h, i and j standards ฬ Atheros Extended Range feature supported (Turbo Mode), Atheros Super A/G mode with up to 108 Mbps security engine WEP64,WEP128, WEP256, AES-CCM, TKIP ,WPS Bus Interface Mini PCI standard bus complaint Connectors Defined BTB connector is using 2x40 pins header, and Support Mini-PCI standard. Compliance to each of the requirements is described below : Questions are: * Please provide a detailed explanation if the answer is โNo.โ 1. โThe modular transmitter must have its own RF shielding.โ Yes / No 2. โThe modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs.โ Yes / No 3. โThe modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation.โ Yes / No 4. โThe modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirements of section 15.203 and 15.204(c).โ Yes / No 5. โThe modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration.โ Yes / No 6. โThe modular transmitter must be labeled with its own FCC ID number.โ Yes / No 7. โThe modular transmitter must comply with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitter and the manufacture must provide adequate instruction along with the module to explain any such requirements.โ Yes / No 8. โThe modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure requirements.โ Yes / No Note: (1) LMA may be granted when one or more of the requirements in the table above cannot be demonstrated. LMA will also be issued in those instances where applicants can demonstrate that they will retain control over the final installation of the device, such that compliance of the end product is assured. In such cases, an operating condition on the LMA for the module must state that the module is only approved for use when installed in devices produced by a specific manufacturer. When LMA is sought, the application for equipment certification must specifically state how control of the end product into which the module will be installed, and will be maintained, such that full compliance of the end product is always ensured. (2) Please provide Clear and specific instructions describing the conditions, limitations and procedures for third-parties to use and/or integrate the module into a host device. (3) For non-Software Defined Radio transmitter modules where software is used to ensure compliance of the device, technical description of how such control is implemented to ensure prevention of third party modification must be provided (see KDB 594280). Note 1: Compliance of a module in its final configuration is the responsibility of the applicant. A host device will not be considered certified if the instructions regarding antenna configuration provided in the original description, of one or more separately certified modules it contains, were not followed. Example: A separately certified low-power transceiver module using Bluetooth technology which is housed in a desktop computer, laptop or peripheral does not require the overall system to be recertified, if the desktop computer, laptop or peripheral, as a stand-alone unit, complies with all applicable technical standards.
