American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 May 17, 2007 RE: FCC ID: SLEW2250PLUS_ATCB004911 Attention: Natasha Tai I have a few comments on this Application. Please note that further comments may arise in response to answers provided to the questions below. 1. Please note that FCC ID numbers must contain alpha-numeric characters. Please also note that for alpha characters only capitalized characters are allowed. Please note that the FCC ID shown on the label exhibit shows lower case letters being used. Please correct the FCC ID exhibit and label to properly use ONLY capitalized letter and numbers. 2. Please note that TCBs cannot certify devices that use DFS radar detection modes nor can a TCB certify DFS devices that have ad-hoc or peer to peer modes of operation. Please note that the manual indicates that this device uses a “Server” mode. This appears to be a master and not only a client configuration (see page 22 of the manual). This also appears to have an Ad-hoc mode (see page 36 of the manual) as weel as a per-to-peer mode ( see page 36 of the manual). If this is true then no TCB can certify this device and it must be submitted directly to the FCC. As such, this device is un-certifiable by a TCB as presented. If this device disables ah-hoc peer-to-peer and server modes in the 5.25 to 5.35GHz bands please explain how this is done. If these modes are not disabled for the 5.25 to 5.35GHz band, please submit directly to the FCC. 3. Please note that as this does in fact appear to require DFS radar detection, no further review can be done until the issue stated in item 2 has been resolved. Dennis Ward mailto:[email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the sender.

Report No. 073L065-RFUSP08V01 Page: 6 of 61 Version:1.0 1.2. Operational Description EUT is a 2G Wireless NPort with a built-in 2.4GHz and 5GHz transceiver. The channels are separated by 20MHz of 802.11a and 5MHz of 802.11b/g. This device supports the data rates of 1, 2, 5.5, 11Mbps in 802.11b mode and 6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48, 54Mbps in 802.11a/g mode. The signals are modulated by DSSS in 802.11b mode and OFDM in 802.11a/g mode. The antennas are Connector and use diversity to improve the receiving sensitivity. This 2G Wireless NPort, complied with IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, and IEEE 802.11a, is a high-efficiency Wireless LAN adapter. It allows your computer to connect to a wireless network and to share resources, such as files or printers without network wires. Wired Equivalent Protection (WEP) algorithm is used. In addition, its standard compliance ensures that it can communicate with any IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g, and IEEE 802.11a network.
