Overview Figure 1.1 RSP-APE-030M Repeater R-tron RSP-APE-030M Repeater can be used in CDMA service hole spots like in-buildings, underground and tunnels to cover its service area. This repeater system designed for dual and simultaneous service, namely, it receives signals from the base station through donor antenna, amplifies the signals and re-transmits it to one or other mobile terminals. Also, it amplifies the signals which comes from mobile terminals through distributor antenna and re-amplifies it to base station. Using local OMT(Operation and Maintenance Terminal) which is connected between repeater control board and personal or laptop computer, it is possible to check or to control repeater status. FCC ID: STESPAPE030M RF Repeater (CDMA) Part 24 Certification Request for Confidentiality - This R-tron Inc. RF Repeater system was designed and tested for IS-95 series(CDMA) specifications. Therefore, maximum function can be done when the repeater will be used under CDMA circumstance. - As for GSM and DCS 1800(GPRS), R-tron Inc. RF Repeater may not meet the specifications. - In other words, when it comes to GSM or DCS 1800(GPRS) situation, R-tron Inc. can not afford to guarantees repeater full functions. For example, one of the differences between GSM and CDMA is power control algorithm. - For that reason, this R-tron RF Repeater system absolutely should be used in CDMA communication and expected end-customer of this repeater system is Sprint which is CDMA(PCS 1900) operator. Sincerely, R-tron, Inc.

American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 May 24, 2006 RE: R-Tron, Inc FCC ID: STESPAE030M I have a few comments on this Application. Depending on your responses, kindly understand there may be additional comments. 1.) Please review your Label. The FCC registration number is not the same as FCC ID. Please change to read “FCC ID:” 2.) Form 731 incorrectly states the uplink power as 31.696 Watts. Please revise. 3.) The tune-up procedure provided is insufficient. How is this device tuned up at the factory? What are the target RF power values? 4.) The RF Exposure exhibit shows a “safe distance” of about 6cm. This is not correct. RF exposure for this case should calculate the levels seen at 20cm. Kindly revise this exhibit. 5.) This device contains a receiver as part of a Licensed transmitter. Therefore the regulatory statements of 15.19(a)(1) would apply. Please review and add this statement to the EUT as appropriate. 6.) The Operational Description and Tune-Up procedure is contained in the Manual. It appears these documents are essentially a cut-and-paste directly from the Manual. Since the Manual cannot be held Confidential, neither can the supplied Operational Description or Tune-up procedure. Please revise. William H. Graff President and Director of Engineering mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the sender.

The receive antenna height and turn table rotation was adjusted for the highest reading on the receive spectrum analyzer. For CDMA signals, a peak detector is used, with RBW = VBW = 3MHz. For AMPS, GSM, and NADC TDMA signals, a peak detector is used, with RBW = VBW = 1MHz, A Horn antenna was substituted in place of the EUT. This Horn antenna was driven by a signal generator and the level of the signal generator was adjusted to obtain the same receive spectrum analyzer reading. This spurious level is recorded. For reading 1GHz, the above procedure is repeated using horn antennas and the difference between the gain of the horn and an isotropic or dipole antenna are taken into consideration.
