Building Automation Products, Inc. Wireless Temperature Sensor for Food Applications Installation and Operation Instructions Description The Building Automation Products, Inc. Wireless Temperature Sensor, Model BA/WFP-xis a battery operated, mobile sensor with a 418 MHz radio transmitter. [x= S for the straight probe version and B for the bent probe] The BA/WFP-x is designed to require very little energy; the internal 3.6 Volt Lithium battery will operate the sensor for 2 to 3 years in normal operation The BA/WPF-x enclosure is designed to mount on the side of food container through the use of different clips. The sensor’s height is adjustable to ensure proper food temperature monitoring. The enclosure is a three part, specially designed enclosure which allows for identification, battery replacement and proper cleaning. The BA/WPF-x has one internal push-button which allows for easy training and identification of the transmitter. The push-button is used when linking the transmitter to a Receiver Module. See BAPI’s INS/OPS for details. The BA/BPF-x also has an internally mounted LED. The LED will flash briefly when the sensor transmits a data packet using the 418 MHz radio. This happens roughly about once every 10 seconds or shortly after the use of the push-button. 750 North Royal Avenue, Gays Mills, WI 54631 USA Tel: +1-608-735-4800 • Fax: +1-608-735-4804 • E-mail:[email protected] • www.bapihvac.com Building Automation Products, Inc. Sensors for HVAC/R — Temperature • Humidity • Pressure • Air Quality NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: -- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. -- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. -- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. -- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. . FCC ID: T4FSM061025 MADE IN USA THIS DEVICE COMPLIES WITH PART 15 OF THE FCC RULES, OPERATION IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING TWO CONDITIONS: (1) THIS DEVICE MAY NOT CAUSE HARMFUL INTERFERENCE AND (2) THIS DEVICE MUST ACCEPT ANY INTERFERENCE RECEIVED, INCLUDING INTERFERENCE THAT MAY CAUSE UNDESERED OPERATION WARNING: Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

dBi Corporation FCC/IC Certification Test Report BAPI BA/WFP-S and BAPI BA/WFP-B Wireless Food Probes Report Number 10dBi002a April 30, 2010 (this test report replaces test report 10dBi002, dated January 15, 2010, in its entirety) Testing Certificate #1985.01 dBi Corporation 10dBi002aPage 2 of 34 ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION Historical record: Because dBi Corporation is a testing entity, and not a manufacturer, this original test report of the BA/WFB-S and BA/WFP-B Wireless Food Probes is being transmitted to the manufacturer, Building Automation Products, Inc. (BAPI). dBi will keep a copy for its historical records and to satisfy A2LA-Audit requirements. We strongly recommend archiving the units that we tested, to facilitate answering future inquiries regarding these products. Retention of records: The FCC requires the records for a Class A or Class B product to be retained by the responsible party for at least two years after the manufacture of said product has been permanently discontinued. These records should include the original certification or verification test report, quality audit data, and the test procedures used. The European Union requires the Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and all supporting data for a product bearing the CE Marking to be retained, and available for inspection by enforcement authorities, for 10 years after placing the product on the market. Australia and New Zealand require the Declaration of Conformity, test reports, a description of the product, documentation that clearly identifies the product, and paperwork showing the product’s brand name, model number, etc. to be kept for at least five years after the product ceases to be supplied to Australia or New Zealand. Measurement uncertainties: The Lexmark Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory (EMC Lab) has a documented calculation of the measurement uncertainties associated with tests performed at the Lexmark site. Ongoing compliance: This report applies only to the samples tested. BAPI is responsibility for ensuring that the production models of these products comply with the FCC and CE Marking requirements, and continue to comply throughout their manufacturing life. BAPI should check any changes to the products that could change their interference profile. A2LA approval: dBi Corporation has been accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) for Radiated Emissions and Conducted Emissions, Electromagnetic Interference, and Electrostatic Discharge testing. Copies of our Accreditation Certificate and Scope of Accreditation follow. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recognized the Lexmark site as meeting the requirements of section 2.948 of the FCC Rules in a letter dated December 10, 2001. This information is on file with the FCC under Registration No. 949691.
