The MPE calculation for this exposure is shown below. The peak radiated output power (EIRP) is calculated as follows: EIRP = P + G Where, P = Power input to the antenna (mW) G = Power gain of the antenna (dBi) EIRP = 14.41 + 3.91 = 18.32 dBm => 67.92 mW The numeric gain(G) of the antenna with a gain specified in dB is determined by: G = Log -1 (dB antenna gain / 10) G = Log -1 (3.91/ 10) G = 2.46 Power density at the specific separation: S = PG/(4R 2 π) Where, S = Maximum power density (mW/cm 2 ) P = Power input to the antenna (mW) G = Numeric power gain of the antenna R = Distance to the center of the radiation of the antenna (20cm = limit for MPE) S = (67.92)/(4 * 20 2 * π) S =0.014 mW/cm 2 The Maximum permissible exposure (MPE) for the general population is 1 mW/cm 2 . The power density at 20cm does not exceed the 1 mW/cm 2 limit. Modular Approval. Power listed is conducted. This Modular Approval is limited to OEM installation for mobile and fixed applications only. The antenna(s) used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20 cm from all persons and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. OEM integrators must be provided with antenna installation instructions. OEM integrators and end-Users must be provided with transmitter operation conditions for satisfying RF exposure compliance. This grant is valid only when the device is sold to OEM integrators and the OEM integrators are instructed to ensure that the end user has no manual instructions to remove or install the device. Separate approval is required for all other operating configurations, including portable configurations with respect to 2.1093 and different antenna configurations.
