Key Instructions • Use with normally closed contacts in-line with 4.7 K-ohms end-of-line resistors. • 4-wire PIRs only. • External supply: 7-14V AC or DC at least 50 mA. • PIR usage: Adds requirements to external supply – see Specifications. • 2 AAA Alkaline batteries are for backup in case of external supply failure. Backup batteries cannot drive the PIR. • Enrolling: Loops enrolled by tampering (shorting). Main device enrolled by tamper switch on the board. Operation • 8 Hardwire Zones wireless transmissions (8 unique IDs): Alarm, when Device sees open circuit. Tamper, when device sees short circuit. Supervisories, every hour for each zone. • Translator Main Zone wireless transmission (9 th unique ID): Tamper, when cover opened. Low battery, when either low AAA batteries, OR loss of AC. Supervisory every hour. • LED Operation Green LED: On if AC power present. Red LED: On if device tamper or device low battery RE108_Hardwire_to_GE-Compat_Translator.doc Page 2 of 3 21-Sep-09 www.ResolutionProducts.com Specifications GE Device Type: 10 (all 8 zone ID’s and device ID) Zone sensing duration: State sensed if held more than 600ms. End-of-line Resistors: 4.7k-ohm, 5%. Max wire run: 1000 feet Backup batteries: Two AAA Alkaline. External supply: 7-14V AC or DC, at least 50mA. Current draw with supply: 4mA, normal operation. PIR usage: Supply must be DC only. PIR may need tighter voltage tolerance. Add PIR and device current requirements together to get total current need. AC Fail Conditions: AC gone for 15 minutes. Restores on AC restore. Device Low Battery Conditions: Low battery for 1 minute. Restores on device tamper, AC restore. Back-up Battery Life on AC Fail: 2 years, all zones terminated in 4.7K; longer if unused/open. Housing dimensions: 4x6x1 inches Specifications subject to change without notice.
