Key Instructions • Use with normally closed contacts in-line with 4.7 K-ohms end-of-line resistors. • Not for use with life safety devices, such as Smoke or CO sensors. • External supply requirements (wall-AC): 12V DC at least 50 mA. • PIR & Glassbreak (powered devices) usage: 4-wire devices only. Not for use with 2-wire power ed devices. 2 AA back-up batteries will drive contacts only, an d cannot drive a PIR. Under external supply failure, the PIR/Glass would likely alarm. If using PIR/Glass, we recommend using 12V DC, 24-h our back-up supply. If using old panel 12V DC supply, verify operation and old battery. • Enrolling: Hardwire zones (labeled “Loops” on the circuit boar d terminals): • Hardwire zones are enrolled into Honeywell system u sing the RF Learning tripping enrollment mode. • Input Type: 3 (Supervised RF), Loop: 2 • When prompted, open/close each zone twice (fault/restore/fault/restore) to enroll the serial number. Translator itself. Trouble supervision of the Tran slator itself is recommended; Assign the Translator to a zone for sending check-i n supervisories, cover tamper and low battery. • Zone Type: 8 (24 hour Aux) – When cover opened: “fa ult” when system not armed, “alarm” when armed. • Input Type: 3 (Supervised RF), Loop: 4 • When prompted, toggle the tamper switch to enroll t he serial number. Operation • 8 Hardwire 4.7K-ohm Zones – transmit 8 unique wirel ess IDs: Alarm on open circuit. Tamper on short circuit. Supervisories, every hour for each zone. The unit is powered by a 12VDC or 9- 18VAC power supply and is backed up by two AA alkaline batteries. The device measures 6.25 x 4 x 1.25” and weighs approximately 8.3 ounces. The device transmits transmission packets for the purpose of alerting a security system. There are eight sets of terminals which connect to reed switches or other switches installed by the user. There is also a tamper switch on the unit. A microcontroller monitors these inputs for activations and transmits eight data packets when valid activations are detected. In the absence of tamper switch activations, a set of three supervision transmissions is sent by the device once per hour. The EUT was tested in the three orthogonal planes with the receive antenna in both polarities. The emissions were maximized per ANSI C63.4:2003 8.3.1.2; that is, the measurement antenna height was varied between 1 and 4 m, and the EUT was rotated through 360° on a rotating turntable until the maximum emissions were found. Both horizontal and vertical measurement antenna polarizations were used. A resolution bandwidth of 100 kHz was used for frequencies less than 1000 MHz, and a resolution bandwidth of 1 MHz was used for frequencies greater than or equal to 1000 MHz. The video bandwidth was set to a value at least three times greater than the resolution bandwidth. EUT Disposition The EUT was adapted to continuously transmit for testing purposes. The 50-ohm output of the EUT LISN was connected to the spectrum analyzer input through a Solar 100 kHz high-pass filter. The filter is used to prevent overload of the spectrum analyzer from noise below 100 kHz. Conducted emission levels were measured on each current-carrying line with the spectrum analyzer operating in the CISPR quasi-peak mode (or peak mode if …
