The EUT was tested in the three orthogonal planes with the receive antenna in both polarities. The emissions were maximized per ANSI C63.4:2003 8.3.1.2; that is, the measurement antenna height was varied between 1 and 4 m, and the EUT was rotated through 360° on a rotating turntable until the maximum emissions were found. Both horizontal and vertical measurement antenna polarizations were used. A resolution bandwidth of 100 kHz was used for frequencies less than 1000 MHz, and a resolution bandwidth of 1 MHz was used for frequencies greater than or equal to 1000 MHz. The video bandwidth was set to a value at least three times greater than the resolution bandwidth. EUT Disposition The EUT was adapted to continuously transmit for testing purposes. Introduction The RE322 is a very small Door/Window Sensor for use in a home security system. The unit is powered by a 3V CR1632 Lithium battery. The device measures 1.8” x .77” x .38” and weighs approximately .3 ounces. The device transmits packets to a security system indicating the status of a door or window. A PIC12LF1572 microcontroller monitors the reed switch input and transmits 8 data packets when a valid activation is detected. In the absence of reed switch activations, a set of three supervision transmissions is sent once per hour. The RE322 transmitter circuit consists of a 13.56MHz crystal and a Micrel MICRF113YM6 PLL Chip. This chip multiplies the crystal frequency to 433.92MHz. It also includes a circuit that allows ASK modulation of the 433.92MHz signal. A ceramic chip antenna radiates the RF signal. The transmitted packet is ASK modulated and has an on-time of 7.68ms. Precautions are taken in the firmware to ensure that there are at least 100ms between packets. Certification is requested under FCC Rules, Part 15, Subpart C, Paragraph 15.231. 2. FCC Part 2 §2.907 This is an application for certification of original equipment 2.2.
