Key Instructions • External supply: 12V DC at least 50 mA. • 3 AAA Alkaline batteries give 72 hours backup if ex ternal supply fails. INSTALL BATTERIES ONLY WHEN EXTERNAL SUPPLY IS READ Y TO CONNECT. • Enrolling: Sensor enrollment into Translator: 1. Press Enroll switch repeatedly until Device Type LE D matches the type of device you’re enrolling. ENROLLING AS WRON G DEVICE TYPE CAN CAUSE IMPROPER OPERATION. 2. Activate particular Honeywell sensor as follows: o PIR: Tamper – ENROLL PIRs FIRST o Panic: Button o Key Fob: Lower Right o DWS: Tamper 3. Automatic responses: o Green LED blinks indicating receipt of Honeywell-compatible packets. o Translator beeps indicating each enrollment into Translator. o Red LED blinks indicating transmit of DSC-compatibl e packet to panel. o The Translator transmits packets to the panel as so on as it learns a new sensor. So the panel, if it’s in enro ll mode, will recognize the DSC-compatible packets. The DSC panel then requires affirmation to accept the sensor. NOTE: The ESNs that the DSC panel sees do not look anything like the xxx-yyyy IDs on the Honeywell sen sors. Press enroll button repeatedly until all Device Typ e LEDs are off. 2. Press and hold enroll key for 5 seconds until beep. Delete one Device Type: 1. Press enroll button repeatedly until target Device Type LED is lit. 2. Press and hold enroll key for 5 seconds until beep. Operation • Existing Honeywell protocol sensors transmit as usu al. Translator passes information on to control panel as if they were DSC transmitters. Honeywell fob buttons: OFF / ON / Left / Ri ght, translate to DSC fob functions: OFF / AWAY / HOME / Panic • Translator Module Zone wireless transmission ( uniq ue ID): Tamper, when cover opened. Also sends restore. Low battery, when low battery. Also sends restore. Supervisory every hour. Supervisory stopped if 12V DC power absent. Translator Module does not send any alarm signals a bout itself. • LED Operation Green LED • On if 12V DC power present. • Blinks on receipt of Honeywell-compatible packets. Red LED • On if device low battery (unless there’s no 12V DC power). • Blinks on transmit of GE-compatible packets. • Application Diagram New DSC Wireless System New DSC Wireless Sensors Existing HoneywellWireless Sensors RE324HD_HNW-to-DSC_Wireless_Translator.doc Page 3 of 4 6/29/2010 www.ResolutionProducts.com Specifications Receiver and Transmitter: Listens to SAW and crysta l transmitters.
