Operational Description

FCC ID: VYXWIFI-006 Report No. RF981123H05 Operational Description This device is an 802.11 b/g/n WLAN USB Adapter, which operates in the 2.4GHz frequency spectrum with throughput of up to 150Mbps which OFDM technique will be applied. If the signal to noise rate is too poor which could not support 150Mbps, the 11Mbps data rate with DSSS technique will be applied. The transmitter of EUT is powered by host equipment. 1. The EUT is 1 * 2 spatial SIMO (1Tx & 2Rx) without beam forming function. The antenna configurations are one transmitter antenna and two receiver antennas, as there are two Patch antennas. There is one transmitter and two receivers. 4. The EUT complies with 802.11n standards and backwards compatible with 802.11b, 802.11g products. 5. The EUT, operates in the 2.4GHz frequency range, lets you connect IEEE 802.11g or IEEE 802.11b and 802.11n technique devices to the network. 6. Introduction In this document, we try to prove the safety of radiation harmfulness to the human body for our product. The limit for Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) specified in FCC 1.1310 is followed. The Gain of the antenna used in this product is measured in a Fully Anechoic Chamber (FAC) calibrated for antenna measurement in our lab, and also the maximum total power input to the antenna is measured. Through the Friis transmission formula and the maximum gain of the antenna, we can calculate the distance, away from the product, where the limit of MPE is reached. Although the Friis transmission formula is a far field assumption, the calculated result of that is an over-prediction for near field power density. We will take that as the worst case to specify the safety range. 2. Friis Formula Friis transmission formula : Pd = (Pout*G) / (4*pi*r 2 ) where Pd = power density in mW/cm 2 Pout = output power to antenna in mW G = gain of antenna in linear scale Pi = 3.1416 R = distance between observation point and center of the radiator in cm Pd is the limit of MPE, 1 mW/cm 2 .
