SAFETY GUIDELINE In order to achieve maximum safety while using your Razer Chimaera, we suggest that you adopt the following guidelines: 1. Should you have trouble operating the device properly and troubleshooting does not work, unplug the device and contact the Razer hotline or go to www.razersupport.com for support. Do not attempt to service or fix the device yourself at any time. 2. Do not take apart the device (doing so will also void your warranty) and do not attempt to service it yourself or operate it under abnormal current loads. 3. Keep your device away from liquid, humidity or moisture. Operate your device only within the specified temperature range of 0 ̊C (32 ̊F) to 40 ̊C (104 ̊F). Should you operate it in a temperature that is beyond this range, unplug and switch off the device in order to let the temperature stabilize within the optimal temperature range. 4. The device isolates external ambient sounds even at low volumes, resulting in lowered awareness of your external surroundings. Please remove the device when engaging in any activities that requires active awareness of your surroundings. 5. Excessively loud listening volumes damage your hearing over extended periods of time. The legislation of certain countries allows a maximum permissible sound pressure level of 86dB to affect your hearing for the duration of a working day. Therefore, please reduce your volume level to a comfortable level for longer usage period. Take good care of your hearing. saFety and maintenance A 5.1 Surround Sound B Left Button 1 – Microphone Volume Up C Left Button 2 – Microphone Volume Down D Right Button 1 – Volume Up E Right Button 2 – Volume Down F Left Button 3 – Microphone Mute G Left Button 4 – Power Button K EQ LED L Dolby Headphone LED M Mode (Xbox LIVE/ Local Team Communications) LED N Standby LED O EQ/ Dolby Headphone Button P Standby Button Q Source / Synchronization Button MAINTENANCE AND USE There is a little regular maintenance to keep the Razer Chimaera in optimum condition. Once a month we recommend you unplug the device and clean the Razer Chimaera with a soft cloth or cotton swab. Use a little warm water but no soap or harsh cleaning agents. BATTERY Razer Chimaera contains a nickel metal hydride rechargeable battery. In general, the life expectancy of such batteries is dependent upon usage. Heavy daily usage use will result in shorter battery life. Casual use will extend battery life. If you suspect that the nickel metal hydride rechargeable battery inside the Razer Chimaera may be drained (has a low charge), try charging it. If the battery does not recharge after several attempts, it may be non-operational. Dispose of batteries according to your local environmental laws and guidelines. BATTERY WARNING Caution: risk of explosion and personal injury if batteries are replaced by incorrect type. Do not open, mutilate, or expose to conducting materials (metal), moisture, liquid, fire, or heat. Doing so may cause batteries to leak or explode, resulting in personal injury. Dispose of spent, leaking or damaged batteries according to manufacturer instructions and local laws. Do not use or charge batteries (nickel metal hydride rechargeables) if le…

RF Exposure Introduction Requirements Three different categories of transmitters are defined by the FCC in OET Bulletin 65. These categories are fixed installation, mobile and portable and are defined as follows:  Fixed installation: Fixed location means that the device, including its antenna, is physically secured at a permanent location and is not able to be easily moved to another location. Additionally, distance to humans form the antenna is maintained to at least 2 meters.  Mobile Devices: A mobile device is defined as a transmitting device designed to be used in other than fixed locations and to be generally used in such a way that a separation distance of at least 20 centimeters is normally maintained between the transmitters’s radiating structures and the body of the user or nearby persons. Transmitters designed to be used by consumers or workers that can be easily re-located are considered mobile devices if they meet the 20 centimeter separation requirement. The FCC rules for evaluating mobile devices for RF compliance are found in 47 CFR 2.1091.  Portable Devices: A portable device is defined as a transmitting device designed to be used so that the radiating structure(s) of the device is/are within 20 centimeters of the body of the user. Portable device requirements are found in Section 2.1093 of the FCC’s Rules (47 CFR 2.1093) SPORTON INTERNATIONAL INC. The two categories defined are Occupational/Controlled Exposure and General Population/Uncontrolled Exposure. These two categories are defined as follows:  Occupational/controlled Exposure: In general, occupational/controlled exposure limits are applicable to situation in which persons are exposed as a consequence of their employment, who have been made fully aware of the potential for exposure. Awareness of the potential for RF exposure in a workplace or similar environment can be provided through specific training as part of a RF safety program. If appropriate, warning signs and labels can also be used to establish such awareness by providing prominent information on the risk of potential exposure and instructions on methods to minimize such exposure risks.  General Population/Uncontrolled Exposure: The general population / uncontrolled exposure limits are applicable to situations in which the general public may be exposed or in which persons who are exposed as a consequence of their employment may not be made fully aware of the po…
