Connect one end of the Ethern et cable (i ncluded) to one of the Ethernet port s (E TH1 β ETH4) on the device. Connect the other en d to the Ethernet port on a PC. Note: Use Category 5e or 6 cables with RJ45 connectors when connecting Ethern et devices to the LAN po rts. This en sures Gigabit Ethern et speeds when the computer supports it . 3. Connect one end of an RJ11 phon e cable to the telephone port (TEL1, TEL2) on the device that has been pr ovisioned for v oice se rvic e as speci fied by the service pro vider. Conne ct the othe r end to the ph one port of the teleph one. Note : Telephon e ser vice wil l no t be avail able if voice serv ice has not been provision ed thro ugh the se rvice pr ovider. 4. Connec t the power adapter to the POWER po rt on the de vice. Plug the othe r end of the po wer adap ter into the AC wall outle t. Importa nt: Use only the po wer adapter that is shipped with the devi ce. Fasten two screws horizontally to the wall at a distance of 19.4 cm (7.63β). Allow screws to project from the wall so the device hangs securely on the screws. Observe the maximum load of the electrical outlet. Please only use the power adapter provided with the unit. To install the device: Connect the device according to the installation instructions in Figure 3. 1. Connect one end of the RF coaxial cable (not included) to the RF port on the device. Connect the other end to the cable wall outlet or a cable splitter. (Use a cable splitter, not included, to connect the device and a television to the same cable wall outlet.) Be sure not to bend or over tighten the cables as this may strain the connector and cause damage. Figure 3: Connection Diagram 2. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable (included) to one of the Ethernet ports (ETH1 β ETH4) on the device. Connect the other end to the Ethernet port on a PC. Note: Use Category 5e or 6 cables with RJ45 connectors when connecting Ethernet devices to the LAN ports. This ensures Gigabit Ethernet speeds when the computer supports it. 3. Connect one end of an RJ11 phone cable to the telephone port (TEL1, TEL2) on the device that has been provisioned for voice service as specified by the service provider. Connect the other end to the phone port of the telephone. Note: Telephone service will not be available if voice service has not been provisioned through the service provider. 4 4. Connect the power adapter to the POWER port on the device. Plug the other end of the power adapter into the AC wall outlet. FCC ID: XCNDVW324 Report No.: RF 120604E06 Operational Description This device is a Broadcom 3383Z Wireless eMTA, which operates in both of the 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands; the maximum data rate could be up to 300Mbps which OFDM technique. If the signal to noise radio is too poor which could not support 300Mbps, the 11Mbps data rate with DSSS technique will be applied. The transmitter of the EUT is powered by 12Vdc from power adapter. The antenna is PIFA antenna with HRS antenna connector. The other instruction, please have a look at the users manual. FCC 15.407(c) states: The device shall automatically discontinue transmission in case of either absence of information to transmit or operational failure. These provisions are not intended to preclude the transmission of control or signaling information or the use of repetitive codes used by certain digital technologies to complete frame or burst intervals. Applicants shall include in their application for equipment authorization a description of how this requirement is metβ Data transmission is always initiated by software, which is then pass down through the MAC, through the digital and analog baseband, and finally to the RF chip. Several special packets (ACKs, CTS, PSPoll, etc...) are initiated by the MAC. There are the only ways the digital baseband portion will turn on the RF transmitter, which it then turns off at the end of the packet. Therefore, the transmitter will be on only while one of the aforementioned packets are being transmitted.
