The Mobility Sound Bluetooth PTT BT-PTT allows you to use a compatible BTD adapter with your two-way radio. Version 1.0 October 2010 Bluetooth PTT Model No.: BT-PTT Made in Taiwan FCC ID: XTS-BTD-1M3 CE, RoHS Ready BT-PTT Bluetooth PTT QUICK START 1. Charge the BT-PTT 2. Pair the BT-PTT with a Bluetooth Adapter and wireless headset. 3. Test and Use. Charging the BT-PTT STEP ONE: Charging the BT-PTT The BT-PTT has an internal Lithium Ion rechargeable battery pack which must be charged prior to operation, and must be recharged regularly. A fully charged battery will provide approximately 12 hours (or more) of operation before needing to be recharged. To charge the BT-PTT: * Ensure the BT-PTT is turned on, using the switch located on the back of the device. * Plug the supplied wall charger into an AC (110V) wall outlet. * Plug the charger into charge jack on the bottom of the Bluetooth adapter. You will need to remove the protective rubber cover that is inserted into the charge jack. (To prevent dust and moisture from damaging your PTT, always ensure this cover is in place when you are not charging the BT-PTT.) * The BT-PTT takes approximately 4.5 hours to charge. Actual charge time will vary depending on several factors including the battery’s charge state, condition, and age. Charging Cautions: - Use only the wall charger supplied by the manufacturer. Do not use any other charger. - Do not use a wall charger that appears to be damaged. (Example: frayed wires, melted plastic, etc.) Contact your distributer to get a new manufacturer-approved replacement charger. - Do not tamper with or modify the BT-PTT or charger. STEP TWO: Pairing the BT-PTT In order to operate, the BT-PTT must be paired to Bluetooth Adapter (BTD-xxx series) and Bluetooth headset. To pair these three devices, follow this procedure: * The Bluetooth Adapter must be connected to a compatible radio with a freshly charged battery. Ensure the two-way radio, Bluetooth headset, and BT-PTT are all powered off. * Place the adapter in Accessory Pairing mode. To do this, turn the two-way radio on while holding down the Talk button on the Bluetooth Adapter. Continue to hold the Talk button down for approximately three seconds. Release the Talk button when the status LED flashes two times per second. The Bluetooth Adapter is now in audio accessory pairing mode. * Activate the pairing mode on your Bluetooth headset by following the instructions provided by the headset’s manufacturer. Once the wireless audio accessory and Bluetooth Adapter are paired with each other, the status LED on the adapter will show a constant blue light for three seconds. * Once the headset and adapter have been successfully paired, turn off the two-way radio and Bluetooth headset and wait at least three seconds. * Turn on the two-way radio while holding down the Talk button on the Bluetooth Adapter. Continue to hold the Talk button down for approximately three seconds. Release the Talk button when the status LED flashes two times per second. Then, press the Talk button again. The LED should now flash three times per second, indicating that the adapter is now in BT-PTT Pairing mode. * Place the BT-PTT in pairing mode by holding down the Push-To-Talk button while moving the power switch to the On position. The LED will flash twice in one second. Once the Bluetooth Adapter and BT-PTT are paired with each other, the status LED on the adapter will show a constant blue light for three seconds and the LED on the PTT will show one time per 4 seconds. * If the Bluetooth Adapter or BT- PTT does not detect a compatible wireless accessory within 60 seconds of being put into pairing mode, the devices will exit the pairing mode and resume normal operation. * After pairing is successful, turn off the BT-PTT and the two-way radio that the Bluetooth Adapter is attached. Wait at least three seconds. STEP THREE: Testing and Using the BT-PTT After the Bluetooth headset, Bluetooth Adapter and BT-PTT have been paired with each other you can test and use them together: * Turn on the two-way radio the Bluetooth Adapter is connected to. * Turn on the Bluetooth headset. Within a few seconds the LED indicator on the adapter should show a long flash, indicating the headset and adapter are connected. * Turn on the BT-PTT. Within a few seconds the LED indicator on the adapter should show a long flash, indicating the headset and adapter are connected. The LED on the PTT should also flash per 4 seconds. *You will now be able to operate using the wireless accessories. Pressing the Push-to-Talk button on the BT-PTT will cause the two-way radio to transmit. Transmit audio will be picked up by the Bluetooth headset. Received signals will also be heard through the Bluetooth headset’s earphone. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Note: You can follow these Pairing step if pairing difficult 1) Let BT-Headset in pairing mode 2) Connect BTD-XXX to radio and let the Dongle in pairing mode (2 flash/S) 3) Paired the BTD-XXX with BT-Headset 4) Close BT-Headset (important) 5) Close radio and push BTD-XXX PTT to let BTD-XXX in pairing mode and push PTT again, Let Dongle in BT-PTT pairing mode.(3 flash/S) 6) Let BT-PTT in pairing mode. (2 flash/S) 7) Paired Dongle with BT-PTT. 8) Power on BT-Headset.(important). BT-PTT won’t work if BT-Headset is off. 9) After BT-Headset link with Dongle then you can use BT-PTT. BLUETOOTH PTT USER’S GUIDE For Compatible Wireless Audio Accessories STATUS LED MESSAGES The meanings of the various status LED messages shown by the BT-PTT are shown on the following table: LED Indication Meaning Long blue flash PTT Powered On (Disconnection / Unpaired) One blue flash every 4 seconds Normal (Paired) operation Two blue flashes every second Pairing Mode Red Push-to-Talk activated Long blue flash Lost connection / Unpaired operation One blue flash every 1 seconds Powered On +Low battery Blue Powered On +Charging All led off Powered On +Charging complete Lon…
