Comfort Link™ II XXL Home Control Owner/Operator Manual 2 3 4 5 Regulatory Information Agency Statements FCC Information This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one of the following measures: - Reorient or relocate the transceiver antenna. - Increase the separation between the equipment and transceiver. - Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the transceiver is connected. - Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and RSS-210 of Industry Canada. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. FCC/IC Caution: Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by Trane could void the user's authority to operate this equipment. To comply with IC RF exposure limits for general population/uncontrolled exposure, the module with fixed internal antenna must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20 cm from all persons and must not be collocated or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.

It has a user interface such that it can display and update information (temperature, set points, mode, etc.) of multiple zones. It contains a temperature and humidity sensor for a single zone and also has capability for up to two remote temperature sensors. It communicates over a wireless network utilizing the ZigBee Pro Stack. It also has internet connectivity via a WiFi module for home automation and remote monitoring and control. It is intended to be used in conjunction with a high end HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system with damper zoning. Damper Zoning is a collection of zones associated with a single HVAC System using dampers to modulate airflow to the individual zones. A Zone is a HVAC application defined area where comfort can be controlled independently of other defined areas.
RF Exposure Statement Requirement: According to CFR 15 §1.1307 (b)(1), systems operating under the provisions of this section shall be operated in a manner that ensure that the public is not exposed to radio frequency energy level in excess of the Commission’s guideline. SAR Testing: The average output power under normal worst-case operation of EUT is 18.6 mW < 60/f(GHz) mW or 24.19 mW for d<2.5 cm (general population category). The user is instructed in the product manual to maintain no less than a 20 cm separation distance from this device. Per the calculations below, SAR measurements are not necessary.
