1 THE SLINGSHOT-LI-ION BF4081 User’s Manual 2 Important Safety Instructions When used in the directed manner, this unit has been designed and manufactured to ensure your personal safety. However, improper use can result in potential electrical shock or fire hazards. Please read all safety and operating instructions carefully before installation and use, and keep these instructions handy for future reference. Take special note of all warnings listed in these instructions and on the unit. 1. Ventilation The unit should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere with its proper ventilation. For example, it should not be situated on a bed, sofa, rug or similar surface that may block the ventilation openings. The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc. Also, it should not be placed in a built-in installation, such as a bookcase or cabinet, which may impede the flow of air through the ventilation openings, a minimum distance 20 cm around the apparatus for sufficient ventilations. 2. Heat & Flame The unit should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat. No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus. 3. Cleaning The unit should be cleaned only as recommended. See the section "Care and Maintenance" of this manual for cleaning instructions. 4. Attachments Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer. 5. Damage Requiring Service This unit should be serviced by qualified service personnel when: A. The unit has been dropped or the enclosure damaged. B. The unit exhibits a marked change in performance or does not operate normally. 6. Periods of Nonuse If the unit is to be left unused for an extended period of time, such as a month or longer, take out the battery from the unit to prevent damage or corrosion. 7. Servicing The user should not attempt to service the unit beyond those methods described in the user's operating instructions. Service methods not covered in the operating instructions should be referred to qualified service personnel. Features Thank you for purchasing the SLINGSHOT-LI-ION, a Bluetooth Shower Speaker. The model incorporates following features:  Playback mobile device, like iPad /iPhone/iPod Touch and smart phone music through Bluetooth technology  Hands-free function for the incoming phone call  Water resistant shower speaker  Built-in rechargeable battery iPad, iPhone and iPod touch are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Smart phone, iPad, iPhone and iPod models are not included. 3 Low Battery Status While the battery voltage drops to a low voltage level, the unit may operate abnormally and “beep” tone will be sounded. In this case, the built-in battery is needed to recharge. Charging Battery (see Figure A) The unit has built-in rechargeable battery. Figure A To recharge the battery, an USB cable with USB micro B type connector, plug the Micro-USB connector to the Micro-USB port located at rear of the unit. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a DC power supply source. - Status LED indicator lights RED when the unit is charging. - Status LED indicator will turn off (no red light) when the battery is fully charged. RESET button For resetting the unit 5 Bluetooth Operation The unit playback mobile device (for example: smart phone, tablet, iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch) music through Bluetooth operation. Before you did the Bluetooth pairing / connection, following information will help: (A) Whilst the unit is searching for Bluetooth device, the Blue LED indicator lights steadily. Whilst the unit paired/connected with a Bluetooth device, the Blue LED indicator blinks slowly. (B) The Bluetooth device name of this model: Slingshot Pair / Connect a mobile device 1. With the unit at power off mode, press and hold the Power button for around 3 seconds. 2. (a) After the first 3 seconds, the unit will search for the last connected mobile device for around 5 seconds and connect it. Note : If you would like to connect other mobile device, turn off the Bluetooth function of the last mobile device and implement following step (b). (b) If the last connected mobile device is not available within the 5 seconds mentioned in (a) above, it will start searching other nearby Bluetooth device. 3. The Blue LED indicator lights steadily. 4. From the mobile device with its Bluetooth function turned on and it will also search for the nearby Bluetooth device. 5. From the Bluetooth device list of your mobile device, tap on Bluetooth device name “Slingshot” of this model for the connection. 6. Once the mobile device is connected with the unit, the Blue LED indicator blinks slowly. Playback mobile device music 7. Playback your mobile device music. 8. You may adjust both the volume control of your mobile device and the volume control button of this unit to find the most desirable volume setting. 9. (a) You may tap the / button from the mobile device (or the Play-Pause button from the unit) to Play / Pause the mobile device music. (b) Press the button to skip tracks backward / forward.
