Introduction The DUT supports time-averaged SAR (TAS) technology for the WLAN transmitters. This TAS implementation does not monitor actual outpower level, instead it conservatively assumes the WLAN transmitters are operating at the maximum allowable output power for the averaging power calculation. Power levels in different bands with different operating states and power limits are not directly comparable so the TAS algorithm instead tracks the ratio of energy contribution relative to the available energy budget for each transmitter. This resulting β€œutilization ratio” for a particular WLAN transmitter can then be added to the utilization ratio for all other WLAN transmitters in the device over the same time-period to derive the total WLAN system utilization ratio. The DUT supports 6GHz. Consistent with FCC guidance on compliance with time averaging exposure limits, the TAS implementation uses the total WLAN utilization ratio over a nominal 30 second time window to manage the transmitter power level and ensure that the DUT does not exceed the average power levels documented in Part1 SAR Report. To validate the proper functioning of the time-average algorithm of this device, the following test scenarios were performed. These scenarios define the operation of the algorithm in all operational states: 1. SDB traffic mode- 2.4GHz and 5GHz/6GHz transmit simultaneously. 2. Antenna Switching – switching between different antennas on a given channel 3. Plim Switching – switching between different Plims for a given channel. The data was plotted over time relative to the utilization limit to demonstrate that the utilization ratio never exceeds 100%. The DUT WLAN chipset applies a 1.5 dB uncertainty budget to all power control functions. Test Setup Set up should include the device under test and access points. It is preferred to have attenuation control to achieve the rssi to a known good level of around -80dBm to -85dBm [ lower rssi to ensure that transmissions are at lower mcs rates. Lower mcs rates transmission increases the possibility of transmitted power limited by SAR_Limit rather than other regulatory limits. The power optimization (Popt) setting for both antennas is a 6dB increase from Plim, the instantaneous maximum power (Pmax) is MIN {Plimit +Popt, RL} during TAS power transmission behavior, this applies to 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz. The measurements are performed with a fixed Plim. The Plim and Pmax parameters used for testing in the tables below. Note :RL – Regulatory limit Test automation is used to ensure that all WLAN 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz transmissions are operating at maximum possible duty cycle during the test. TEL : 886-3-327-3456 Page : G1 of G2 FAX : 886-3-328-4978 FCC SAR TEST REPORT Report No. :FA5O0118C Appendix G. Supplemental Antenna Tuner Tests Results General Note: 1. This device implements antenna tuning techniques in the several frequency band and list as below. SAR test proposal was measured according to the normally required SAR configurations with the tuner active and worst tune state (auto tune) was used for SAR testing and this design will provide the highest power at different user scenarios and would not influence to the antenna characteristics other than impedance matching. 2. Dynamic antenna tuning mechanism is available at Ant.0 for its < 3GHz LTE and NR band. The number of supported tune codes is different for each frequency band as shown in the following table. And it’s verified that tune state results in the highest SAR configuration 3. The antenna tuner state shall be controlled remotely such that the DUT position is not moved during the series of single-point SAR measurements. 4. For each air interface, exposure condition, and antenna that supports dynamic antenna tuning (DAT), the following procedure shall be followed: a. An area scan is performed with the DUT positioned for the exposure condition with auto-tuner enabled to determine the peak SAR location b. A single-point SAR measurement (i.e., time sweep) is performed at the peak SAR location of step a (that is, with auto-tuner enabled). The auto-tuner state shall be recorded, after verifying that it is stable. If fluctuations occur, the scan procedure can be restarted, or the state with the highest SAR needs to be recorded c. Without moving the probe, or introducing any other perturbation, the auto-tuner shall be disabled, and two other adjacent tune states shall be chosen by increasing and decreasing the state identification number by 1 d. A single point SAR measurement is then performed on both chosen adjacent states and compared with the value of step b. The measured SAR for auto-tuner disabled is expected to be less than or equal to the recorded SAR of step b. If the measured SAR is higher beyond documented tolerance, then the auto-tuning feature is not working as intended and is not suitable for compliance. DAT functionality shall be removed or adjusted by the manufacturer. If the measured SAR is higher than the value of step b but within tolerance, the next adjacent state(s) shall be chosen and the measure repeated until a lower SAR value can be shown; otherwise, the DAT is considered inoperative and shall be removed or adjusted by the manufacturer. e. Repeat step b with auto-tuning enabled as a test for variability within tolerance: the previous measured value in step 2.2 shall be recovered. If the measured SAR is outside the expected tolerance, then the auto-tuning feature is considered not working as intended and not suitable for compliance. DAT functionality shall be removed or adjusted by the manufacturer f. If any single-point SAR measurement result is >1.4 W/kg, then all tune states for that particular combination of air interface, exposure condition, and antenna selection shall be evaluated with single-point SAR measurements. Output power listed is EIRP. This device only supports 2x2 MIMO and operating bandwidths of 20 MHz, 40 MHz, 80 MHz and 160 MHz. To satisfy FCC RF exposure compliance requirements, body-worn operations are restricted to belt-clips, holsters or similar accessories that have no metallic component in the assembly and must provide at least 5 mm separation between the device and the user's body. End-users must be informed of the body-worn operating requirements for satisfying RF exposure compliance. The highest reported SAR values for head, body-worn accessory, product specific (hot spot), product specific (10g) and simultaneous transmission use conditions are 0.78 W/kg, 0.79 W/kg, 0.41 W/kg, 0.99 W/kg (10g), and 1.59 W/kg, respectively. HAC-2019, under the waiver DA 23-914. The lowest conversational gain is 10.0 dB with a hearing aid and 15.0 dB without a hearing aid.
