Make sure your amplifier is off. Connect the transmitter to your amplifier‘s speaker output terminals with the provided 6-foot speaker cords, matching polarities. Or connect your transmitter to the amplifier’s RCA output ports with RCA cables (not included). 2. Connect the supplied AC adapter (9V, 200mA) to the DC IN 9V jack, then plug it into a standard household outlet. 2 Install the Receiver 1. Connect the surround speakers to the receiver with speaker wires, matching polarities. 2. Connect the supplied AC adapter (15V, 4A) to the DC IN 15V jack, and then plug it into a standard household outlet. n Notes: Make sure the exposed tips of each cord do not touch each other, and make sure they are fully inserted into the terminals. This rear speaker kit is designed for connecting to your amplifier surround speaker terminals only. For speaker wires that have proprietary connectors, you may strip the end of the wires to allow connection to the receiver. However, check with the speaker manufacturer before doing this, as it may void the warranty. When the RCA cables are connected, audio input from the speaker terminal will be disabled. Unplug the AC adapters from the AC outlet before unplugging it from the transmitter or receiver. Use the supplied AC adapters only. Using an AC adapter not designed for this product may cause damage. 3 Place the Transmitter and Receiver The transmitter and receiver must be placed within 100 feet for proper operation. They can be placed horizontally on a flat surface, vertically in the provided stands or mounted on a wall, using the mounting holes on the bottom. INTERTEK TESTING SERVICE RF Exposure Evaluation For Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) evaluation of the Transmitter Unit, with reference to TCB Exclusions List revised on July 17, 2002, portable transmitters with output power less than low threshold and operating within 2.5cm from person’s body can be certified by TCB without the SAR evaluation. The output power for portable transmitters is defined as the higher of the conducted or radiated (EIRP) source-based time averaging output power. And the low threshold is equal to (60/fGHz) mW for d < 2.5cm, where fGHz is mid-band frequency in GHz, and d is the distance from the portable transmitter to a person’s body, excluding hands, wrists, feet, and ankles. For the Transmitter Unit of the tested model of 1500044, the measured peak conducted power was 48.654 mW. The maximum source-based time averaging duty factor is 14.72%. The conducted source-based time averaging output power = (48.654 * 0.1472) mW = 7.162 mW The measured maximum field strength (FS) was 115.3 dBμV/m. The distance (D) between the antenna and the equipment under test (EUT) was 3 meters. From these data, the radiated (EIRP) source-based time-averaging output power can be calculated by: The radiated power = (FS*D)2 / 30 mW = 101.653 mW The radiated (EIRP) source-based time-averaging output power = (101.653 * 0.1472) mW = 15.0 mW The low threshold in the 2400 – 2483.5MHz band is 25 mW. From the above calculation, output power obtained in both method is less than low threshold, it is concluded that the handset can be certified by TCB without the SAR evaluation.
