STOP ALARM When distress call is acknowledged by coast station (usually within 1 min to 2 min 45 seconds) 3. The audio alarm sounds; press the [CANCEL] key to silence the alarm. 4. Communicate with the coast station via radiotelephone as below. (In the dual control unit system, communication can be done from any control unit, after the distress alert has been transmitted. To restore priority to the #1 control unit after completion of distress communications, turn it off and on again.) a) Say MAYDAY three times. b) Say βThis is ...β name of your vessel and your call sign three times. c) Give nature of distress and assistance needed. d) Give description of your vessel (type, number of persons onboard, etc.) and any other information which may aid in rescue. ii SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WARNING Immediately turn off the power at the switchboard if water leaks into the equipment or something is dropped in the equipment. FURUNO SSB RADIOTELEPHONE FS-2570 - Page 1 of 48 - 6.2 Description of the circuitry and devices provided for determining and stabilizing frequency, for suppression of spurious radiation, for limiting modulation, and for limiting power 6.2.1 System Configuration Fig.6.2.1.1 shows the configuration of FS-2570. Note) DSC general frequencies watch keeping receiver antenna; 1) Install a DSC watch receiver antenna (FAX-5+2.6 m Whip), or 2) Use MF/HF antenna. When the antenna is used commonly, SSB and NBDP cannot be used during the scanning of DSC general frequencies. The DSC general frequency receiver is connected to 2.6 m whip antenna with preamplifier FAX-5 or MF/HF antenna. PRESEL05P0746 1) Consisting of 5 filters. 2) 1.45 to 4.99 MHz filter consists of tuning circuits. An adequate capacitor is selected by a relay for the selected frequency. Other four filters is a band pass filter. REF OSC05P0747 1) This board is an 18 MHz reference oscillator. 2) The output is sent to T/R, W/R1 and W/R2 boards. When the transceiver unit is supplied 24V, +12 V (oven voltage) is supplied to the oven. TEMP signal is output to T-CPU board. If the TEMP signal is lower than the designed value, the transceiver does not transmit. W/R105P0734 1) This board is a DSC distress safety receiver, consisting of RF amplifier, a demodulator, an AF amplifier and local oscillators. 2) The board uses 18 MHz reference signal from REF OSC board. For self test, 18 MHz signal is applied to the antenna circuit (RF connection). 3) The T-CPU identifies W/R board with INST signal. W/R1 board is identical to W/R2 board. The system is turned on and off by the control unit connected to [CONT-1] port on the transceiver unit. The control unit communicates with the transceiver unit, using RS-485. The LINE IN/OUT level between two units is 600 β¦/-10 dBm. The printer, PP-510 is connected to the control unit for printing DSC and NBDP messages.
