HELLO! Let’s get started Easy, worry-free and dependable, your Clarity Ensemble is much more than just a telephone. It’s your communications center in a familiar shape that can help bring your family and friends closer to you with the photos and videos they share. And, a touchscreen that makes it easy to keep in touch. Your Ensemble is nearly ready to go right out of the box. The stand snaps into two slots on the back. Use the lower slots to hold the phone more upright; the upper slots hold it a little more horizontal. The power cord and the telephone cord on the back unwind with a tug. Plug the power cord into any wall socket or extension cord, and you’re ready to proceed. We’re right here! If something doesn’t make sense or you get in a jam, call us toll-free: 1-866-525-2748 2 The stand snaps into either of two pairs of slots on the back of the Ensemble. 3 Need help? Call us! 1-866-525-2748 4 Important safety instructions Power connection • Use only the power source marked on the product. • Do not overload power outlets and extension cords. This can result in the risk of fire or electric shock. • Completely insert the AC adapter/power plug into the power outlet. Failure to do so may cause electric shock and/or excessive heat resulting in a fire. • Regularly remove any dust, etc. from the AC adapter/ power plug by pulling it from the power outlet, then wiping with a dry cloth. Accumulated dust may cause an insulation defect from moisture, etc. resulting in a fire. • Unplug the product from power outlets if it emits smoke, an abnormal smell, or makes an unusual noise. These conditions can cause fire or electric shock. Confirm that smoke has stopped emitting and contact Clarity Customer Service at 800-426-3738. • Unplug from power outlets and never touch the inside of the product if its casing has been broken open. • Never touch the plug with wet hands. INTERTEK TESTING SERVICES FCC ID: AL8ENSEMBLE RF exposure - 1 of 2 For Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) evaluation of the base unit, the maximum power density at 20 cm from this mobile transmitter shall be less than the General Population / Uncontrolled MPE limit in OET Bulletin 65 and meet the requirement listed in KDB447498. For the 1.9GHz DECT Transmission of tested model: ENSEMBLE, the measured powers among all the measured channels were within its production tolerance: +15.5 dBm (Minimum) and +20.5 dBm (Maximum). The antenna gain of ENSEMBLE is 0 dBi = 1.00 (num gain) and it s maximum source-based time-averaging duty factor is 20.8% (5/24 x100%). From these data and its operating configuration – Mobile device, the exposed power density at a distance (R) of 20cm from the center of radiation of the antenna can be calculated according to OET Bulletin 65 as follow: The Conducted Power = 20.5 dBm = 112.2 mW The Conducted Power source-based time-averaging output power = (112.2 * 0.208) mW = 23.34 mW The power density at 20cm = 23.34 *1.00/ 4R 2 = 0.0047 mW cm -2 For the 2.4GHz WiFi Transmission of tested model: ENSEMBLE, the measured powers among all the measured channels were within its production tolerance: 14 dBm (Minimum) and 25 dBm (Maximum). The antenna gain of ENSEMBLE is 0 dBi = 1.00 (num gain) and its maxi mum source-based time-averaging duty factor is 100.0% (1 x100%). From these data and its operating configuration – Mobile device, the exposed power density at a distance (R) of 20cm from the center of radiation of the antenna can be calculated according to OET Bulletin 65 a s follow: The Conducted Power = 25 dBm = 316.2 mW The Conducted Power source-based time-averaging output power = (316.2 * 1.000) mW = 316.23 mW The power density at 20cm = 316.23 *1.00/ 4R 2 = 0.0629 mW cm -2 INTERTEK TESTING SERVICES FCC ID: AL8ENSEMBLE RF exposure - 2 of 2 Per KDB 447498 D01 v05, simultaneous transmission MPE test exclusion applies when the sum of the MPE ratios for all simultaneous transmitting antennas incorporated in a host device, based on calculated or measured field strengths or power density, is ≤ 1.0. The MPE ratio for DECT Transmission can be calculated as follow: = The power density at 20cm / MPE limit = 0.0047 mW c m -2 / 1.0 mW cm -2 = 0.0047 The MPE ratio for WiFi Transmission can be calculated as follow: = The power density at 20cm / MPE limit = 0.0629 mW c m -2 / 1.0 mW cm -2 = 0.0629 The sum of the MPE ratios for all simultaneous transmitting antennas = 0.0047 + 0.0629 = 0.0676 As the sum of MPE ratios for all simultaneous transmitting antennas is ≤ 1.0, simultaneous transmission MPE test exclusion will be applied. Conclusion In frequency range of 1,500 - 100,000MHz, the MPE limit is 1.0 mWcm -2 for general population and uncontrolled exposure. As simultaneous transmission MPE test exclusion is applied and the measured power density at 20cm from all the standalone transmissions is lower than the MPE limi t, the compliance to the MPE limit can be ensured by indicating the minimum 20cm separation between the transmitter's radiating structures and body of the user or near by persons. The following RF exposure statement is proposed to be included in the user manual: “ FCC RF Radiation Exposure Statement Caution: To maintain compliance with the FCC’s RF exposure guidelines, place the base unit at least 20cm from nearby persons.”
