Tests were performed with two different antennas, a 33 dB gain antenna for the low power version and a 27 dB gain antenna for the high power version. Test firmware resident in the EUT was used to do the test. 6.1 Low Power Version 6.1.115.407(a)(2)Maximum Peak Output Power The three spectrum analyzer plots labeled " POWER OUT" show the maximum power of the EUT to be -15.2 dBm or .03 mW. The EUT was made to transmit uninterrupted random data on each of the low / mid / high channels. Test Plots are shown in Appendix A. The output was taken from an N connector, through 3 feet of RG 142 cable, to Spectrum Analyzer set on Max Hold with no additional attenuation. September 15, 1998 Joe Dichoso Federal Communications Commission Equipment Approval Services P.O. Box 358315 Pittsburgh, PA 15251-5315 Subject: New test data submitted for FCC ID: EV9N2L5-3S1-01 Joe, The new test data for the Wireless' NII 5.25 - 5.35 GHz radio was submitted via the WebPages on Sept. 14, 1998. We have been working with Greg Czumak to make sure we measure the radio parameters correctly. The output power of this unit has been increased slightly from the previous version. Out of band measurements were performed only up to 26.5 GHz. There are two reasons for this: 1. We have to rent an analyzer that goes up to 40 GHz and at this time we have been unable to find one that is available. 2. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th harmonics of the radio do not appear to have increased. So we are assuming the remaining harmonics will not have increased either. I would still like to have both antennas looked at for approval although the 33 dBi antenna may not make spec. If there are any questions or problems please donβt hesitate to contact me at the number listed above, or by email, [email protected]. Sincerely, Chris Byleckie Technical Director

Tests were performed a 28.5 dB gain antenna. Test firmware resident in the EUT was used to do the test. 6.115.407(a)(2)Peak Transmit Power The N2 Link was set to transmit continuously on it's low, middle, and high frequency. The 26 dB bandwidth was measured for each frequency. The peak transmit power limit is the lesser of either 24dBm or 11 dBm + 10Log(26 dB BW). The peak transmit power limit was reduced by the number of dB that the antenna gain exceeded 6 dBi. The power was measured by setting RBW to 1MHz and VBW to 30MHz. The analyzer span was set to 1Mhz, the trace set for Max Hold, and the frequency set to the center of the selected EUT frequency. The peak reading of the analyzer was recorded. The analyzer frequency was the shifted by 1 MHz and the procedure was repeated. This was done for 10 MHz on each side of the EUT frequency. Table 1 shows the results for each frequency. Data Sheets are shown in Appendix A. Freq. Peak Transmit Power vs. Limit Peak Spectral Power Density Peak Power Spectral Density measurements were taken at the same time the output power. The peak spectral density limit is 11 dBm in any 1 MHz band. This limit is reduced by the number of dB that the antenna gain exceeds 6 dBi, making the limit -11.5 dBm. The N2 Link does not meet the specification at the three mid points for each frequency. Data Sheets are shown in Appendix A. 6.215.407(a)6 Ratio of the peak excursion of the modulation envelope to the peak transmit power shall not exceed 13 dB. Freq.
