Test Report

Section 2.1049: Occupied Bandwidth Minimum Requirement: Part 95.635 Emission Mask: 10. At least 45 dB (decibels) on any frequency removed from the center of the authorized bandwidth by more than 100% up to and including 125% of the authorized bandwidth. 11. At least 55 dB on any frequency removed from the center of the authorized bandwidth by more than 125% up to and including 250% of the authorized bandwidth. 12. At least 56 log(base10) (TP) dB on any frequency removed from the center of the authorized bandwidth by more than 250 percent. Test Procedures: 1. Place the EUT on the turntable. The EUT was placed as close as possible to the center of the turntable with the axis of rotation going through the EUT antenna when in vertical or horizontal polarization. Activated any auxiliary input or control equipment required to produce EUT’s normal modulated output signal. 2. The log periodic search antenna was place at a distance of 3 meters. The antenna was raised and lowered, the EUT rotated on the turntable, until the EUT azimuth, antenna elevation, and antenna polarity were found which yielded maximum received emission levels on the spectrum analyzer. All test were performed at maximum peak with the carrier modulating. TEST RESULT: Top Plot is with a RES BW: 100 KHz and VIDEO BW: 100KHz in Peak mode, but occupied bandwidth fails emission mask due to a large RES BW setting. Top Plot is with a RES BW: 300 Hz and VIDEO BW: 300 Hz, but occupied bandwidth fails emission mask in Peak Mode. Top Plot is with a RES BW: 300Hz and VIDEO BW: 10Hz. Occupied Bandwidth passes the emission mask in Average Mode using a linear VIDEO BW of 10Hz.

George Tannahill Ref: FCC ID: IFHHP-MIM75 Confirmation # EA94733 Per your 6 Dec 1999 inquiry , correspondence ref. # 10947: 1. Necessary bandwidth computation: system deviation 2.1 kHz. Nominal modulation frequency: 1000 Hz. 2D + 2M = N.B. 4.2 kHz + 2 kHz = 6.2 or 6k2F1D 2. Modulation is not FSK. Transmitter frequency is crystal controlled oscillator modulated by a varicap driven by six cycles of nominal 1 mS duration equivalent to a 1 kHz tone. (See Figure 2). This pattern is repeated at a nominal 20 millisecond rate. 3. Plot of occupied bandwidth with limits of 95.635 is included as Figure 1a (note that using a 100 kHz RBW does not resolve the modulation, see Figure 1b). Unmodulated carrier plot is Figure 1c.
