APPLICANT: MOTOROLA FCC ID: IHET6BV1 FCC Filing – GSM 1900 MHz Horizonmacro BTS Statement of Response Telecommunication Certification Body (TCB), BABT Product Service, Program AP # 0526 identified sections of 47 CFR part 24 which required a statement from Motorola GSD as the manufacturer of the equipment. Motorola’s formal response is given below, to the best of our knowledge in the response given is accurate and meets the intent of part 24. 24.51 - Equipment Authorisation – Not Applicable. The measurement or assessment of RF Electromagnetic Fields is an installation issue, the Horizonmacro GSM1900 product, both indoor and outdoor, are sold without an antenna until the base station is installed and commissioned there is no potential for EME hazards. 24.52 - RF Hazards – This section requires compliance with Parts 1.1307(b), 2.1091 and 2.1093 of 47 CFR. Part 2.1091 is specifically addresses mobile devices and Part 2.1093 specifically addresses portable devices as the GSM basestation is a fixed equipment neither of these requirements are applicable. Part 1.1307(b) - Not Applicable. This part requires an environmental assessment (EA) of the installation this includes the Horizonmacro GSM1900 BTS, antenna and antenna feeder cable. A CTU 1900 transceiver in worst case RF configuration, duplexed with no combining, can only transmit 32 W with combining this maximum power is reduced by a factor. Safety guidance is given in exhibit 8 and 10 as listed below.
