FCC ID: JCQ-955 Dear Mr. Johnson, The following is in response to your request for further information on our submittal for the JCQ-955. 1) The Kg factor used in section 5.3 of the test report includes both cable loss and amplifier gain. At the beginning of each test cycle, the cable and amplifier are calibrated together, resulting in a single Kg factor. 2) The emissions in the 3-m pre-scan, as seen in Figure 5.1 do show broadband squelching oscillator emissions. The statement in Section 5.1 that “only the LO and its harmonics were evident” should not have used the word “LO”, but rather “regenerative oscillator emissions”. 3) A picture of the Conducted Emissions testing has been uploaded under “Correspondence” to the ATCB Website. 4) The DUT is a receiver only and will be marketed as such by Martec Access Products, Inc. There is no specific transmitter it will be intended to work with, and listing a possible competitor’s product is not an option. It is considered a “replacement” garage door opener receiver. FCC ID: JCQ-955 After a review of the submitted information, I have a few comments on the above referenced Application. 1) The information regarding your K G Factor used in calculating the field strength given in section 5.3 of the test report is ambiguous. While the amplifier gain is subtracted during the calculation, the Cable loss should be added. Please explain how the preamplifier gain includes the cable loss. 2) Information given in the test report within Section 5.1 of the test report (regarding the prescan) states that only the LO and its harmonics were seen from the DUT. However, plots provided in Figure 5.1 show broad band emissions from about 300 MHz up to 700 MHz with the EUT powered on. Broad-band emissions seen in the 3-m prescan data can be typical for certain types of super- regenerative receivers. Please help clarify this discrepancy. 3) Please provided test configuration photographs for conducted emissions. 4) The DUT is a receiver only. Please update the 731 section 7(b) & 8 with appropriate information regarding a typical transmitter that the DUT will work with. 5) FYI. The information presented on the 731 in regards to the applicants contact information does not match the information on record at the FCC. This will not affect processing of this application, however I have enclosed a separate attachment that explains how the applicant may go forth changing this if they wish. Timothy R.
