Users Manual

Thank you for buying a Samsung Camera.This manual will guide you through using the camera, including capturing images, downloading images and using the application software. Please read this manual carefully before using your new camera. User’s Manual ENGLISH ŝ 1 Ş Instructions Getting to know your camera ƈ Use this camera in the following order Set up the camera driver Take a picture Insert the USB cable Check the camera’s power Check [Removable Disk] Before connecting the camera to a PC, viathe USB cable, you will need to set up thecamera driver. Install the camera driverthat is contained in Application softwareCD-ROM. (p.66)Take a picture. (p.14)Insert the supplied USB cable into thePC’s USB port and the camera’s USBconnection terminal. (p.67)Check the camera’s power. If the power isturned off, press the camera button to turnit on. Open Window Ŗ s EXPLORER and search for [Removable Disk]. (p.68) ƃ If you use a card reader to copy the images on the memory card to your PC, theimages could be damaged. When transferring the images taken with the camerato your PC, be sure to use the supplied USB cable to connect the camera toyour PC. Please note that the manufacturer holds no responsibility for loss ordamage of images on the memory card due to the use of a card reader. Ү There is the possibility of injury from the camera’s moving parts. ƈ battery and camera may become hot during prolonged use and it may result incamera malfunction. Should this be the case, allow the camera to sit idle for a fewminutes to allow it time to cool. ƈ Do not leave this camera in places subject to extremely high temperatures, such asa sealed vehicle, direct sunlight or other places of extreme variances in temperature.Exposure to extreme temperatures may adversely affect the camera’s internalcomponents and could cause a fire. ƈ When in use, do not cover the camera or Charger. Ү Use battery with the correct specification for the camera. Ү Do not short circuit, heat or dispose of battery in fire. Ү Do not insert the battery with the reverse polarities. ƈ Remove the battery when not planning to use the camera for a long period oftime. Battery may leak corrosive electrolyte and permanently damage thecamera’s components. ƈ Do not fire the flash while it is in contact with hands or objects. Do not touch theflash after using it continuously. It may cause burns. ƈ Do not move the camera while it is switched on, if you are using the AC Charger.After use, always switch off the camera before unplugging the cable from thewall socket. Then make sure that any connector cords or cables to other devicesare disconnected before moving the camera. ŝ 40 Ş Delete ( ) button Printer button ƈ If you selectd [Computer] sub menu in the [USB]setup menu, [Connecting Computer] message willdisplay when you connect the camera to yourprinter and the conncection will not be established.In this case, press the Printer button. [ConnectingPrinter] message will display and the Easy printingmode will be selected. * In some instances the camera may not connect to the printer, this will depend on the make of the printer. - After the connection, the Easy printing menu will display on the LCD monitor. To display the PictBridge menu, press theMenu button. For more information about thePictBridge menu, refer to page 49. ƈ This deletes images stored on the memory. ƃ Deleting Images in Play Mode 1. Select an image that you want to delete by pressing the LEFT / RIGHT button and press theDELETE( ) button. 2. A message will display as shown alongside on the LCD monitor. 3. Select the submenu values by pressing the LEFT / RIGHT button and then press the OK button. If [Yes] is selected : deletes the selected images.If [No] is selected : cancels "Delete Image". ƃ Before deleting images from the camera, you should protect or downloadimages to your computer that you wish to keep. INFORMATION ƃ Deleting Images in Thumbnail Display Mode 1. Use the UP, DOWN, LEFT, and RIGHT buttons to select the image you want to delete, and then press the DELETE ( ) button. 2. The following message will be displayed on the LCD monitor.3. Select the submenu values by pressing the LEFT / RIGHT button and then press the OK button.
