Page 1 of 4 USB 2.0 PCI Card Introduction This 4 Port USB2.0 PCI Card is compliant with latest USB Spec Revision 2.0, i.e. support high-speed (480 Mbps), full-speed (12 Mbps) and low-speed (1.5 Mbps) data transaction rate. It is fully backward compatible with previous USB 1.1 products. You will enjoy the Hi-Speed that USB2.0 technology provides, particularly when you are operating the devices, which need mass data transmission, such as DV Camcorder, Digital camera...etc Features ü Compliant with USB Spec Revision 2.0 ü Compliant with Open Host Controller Interface Spec for USB Revision 1.0a ü All 4 downstream ports can handle high-speed (480 Mbps), full-speed (12 Mbps) and low-speed (1.5 Mbps) transaction ü 32-bits 33 MHz host interface compliant to PCI Spec release 2.2 ü Support PCI-Bus Power Management Interface Spec release 1.1 System Requirements ü Use with IBM PC compatible ü Recommended CPU speed at Pentium III or AMD-K7, RAM 128MB ü Operation System of MS Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP* *Microsoft will release Windows XP Operation System to support USB 2.0 PCI Card in foreseeable future. Hardware Installation under Windows 2000 Professional 1. Turn the power off on your computer and disconnect the power cable 2. Open the computer case 3. Select an open PCI slot. Remove the cover plate for that slot. 4. Push the card into the slot 5. Attach the card’s bracket to the back of the computer with the screw to fix 6. Close the computer case 7. Connect the power cable and turn the power on Page 2 of 4 8. Windows 2000 Professional will detect an new USB device and run Add New Hardware Wizard, please insert alpha Driver (provided by Microsoft for USB-IF) 9. Follow the instructions and at final stage, push Finish button to complete installation. Device Manager - Windows 2000 Professional Once USB 2.0 PCI Card is being installed in the computer, , you will see the USB 2.0 PCI Card displaying in Device Manager of Windows 2000 Professional as follows Hardware Installation under Windows XP (Beta 2) 1. Same Procedures as above installation of Windows 2000 Professional 2. At procedures 8, please insert alpha Driver for Windows XP 3. Follow the instructions and at final stage, push Finish button to complete installation. When the EUT is a tabletop system, a wooden table with a height of 0.8 meters is used and is placed on the ground plane as per ANSI C63.4 (see Test Facility for the dimensions of the ground plane used). When the EUT is a floor-standing equipment, it is placed on the ground plane which has a 3-12 mm non-conductive covering to insulate the EUT from the ground plane. 2) Support equipment, if needed, was placed as per ANSI C63.4. 3) All I/O cables were positioned to simulate typical actual usage as per ANSI C63.4. 4) The EUT received DC 3.3/5/12V power through Host PC and Line Impedance Stabilization Network (LISN) which supplied power source of 120VAC/ 60Hz and was grounded to the ground plane. 5) All support equipment received power from a second LISN supplying power of 110VAC/60Hz, if any. 6) The EUT test program was started.
