Check the Package Contents Before you start with the installation, verify that your USB Adapter package includes the following items: ■One 3Com Wireless 11n USB Adapter ■One USB extension cable ■One 3Com Installation CD-ROM, which contains the driver for the USB Adapter ■This 3Com Wireless 11n USB Adapter Quick Installation Guide ■One warranty flyer If any of these items are damaged or missing, please contact your 3Com network supplier immediately. Check the Minimum System Requirements You can install the USB Adapter on any desktop computer running Microsoft ® Windows ® XP, Windows 2000, or Windows Vista. If using Windows 2000, please download the driver and utility from the 3COM web site. Your computer must also have, at least, the following: ■Available USB connector ■733 MHz Intel ™ Pentium ™ III or Celeron processor (or equivalent) ■256 MB of RAM 4Installing the Wireless USB Adapter ■7 MB of free disk space ■CD-ROM drive Installing the Wireless USB Adapter Installing the USB Adapter is a two-step process: 1Install the USB Adapter driver 2Plug in the USB Adapter Install the 3Com Wireless USB Adapter Driver Your USB Adapter includes a CD that contains the 3Com Wireless Driver. Running the USB Adapter setup program installs the driver. To install the 3Com USB Adapter driver: Windows XP Installation 1With the computer on and Windows running, insert the 3Com Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive. The 3Com Wireless Utility 11n USB Adapter Installation Manager setup menu appears. If the setup menu does not appear, click Start > Run, and then type d:\Autorun.exe (where d: is the drive letter assigned to your CD-ROM drive). Install the 3Com Wireless USB Adapter Driver5 2On the setup menu, click Install/Uninstall Wireless Product. The wizard prepares for installation. 6Install the 3Com Wireless USB Adapter Driver 3The 3Com End User Software License Agreement appears. Read the agreement carefully, and then click I accept the terms of the license agreement to agree to all the terms and conditions. Now click Next. Install the 3Com Wireless USB Adapter Driver7 4When the message InstallShield Wizard Complete appears, click Finish. You have completed installing the 3Com Wireless Utility and the USB Adapter driver. 5On the setup menu, click Exit. 8Install the 3Com Wireless USB Adapter Driver Windows Vista Installation 1With the computer on and Windows running, insert the 3Com Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive. The 3Com Wireless Utility 11n USB Adapter Installation Manager setup menu appears. If the setup menu does not appear, click > All Programs > Accessories > Run, and then type d:\setup.exe (where d: is the drive letter assigned to your CD-ROM drive). 2On the setup menu, click Install/Uninstall Wireless Product. The maximum output power declared by the 3Com Corporation. EUT model # WL-600 was evaluated accordance with the requirements for compliance testing defined in FCC OET Bulletin 65, Supplement C (Edition 01-01) and meet the SAR requirement, the phantom employed was the box phantom of 2mm thick in one wall. The total uncertainty for the evaluation of the spatial peak SAR values averaged over a cube of 1g tissue mass had been assessed for this system to be ±20.6%, the dosimetry assessment system INDEXSAR SARA2 was used. In summary, the maximum spatial peak SAR value for the sample device averaged over 1g was found to be: Phantom Position (worst case) SAR 1g , W/kg 2mm thick box phantom wall 802.11b middle channel EUT lei bottom 00mm to phantom 0.518 W/kg In conclusion, the tested Sample device was found to be in compliance with the requirements defined in OET Bul…
