These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at his own expense. INDUSTRY CANADA NOTICE This device has been designed to operate with an antenna having a maximum gain of 42 dB. Antenna having a higher gain is strictly prohibited per regulations of Industry Canada. The required antenna impedance is 50 ohms. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device. American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 RE: FCC ID: ONJ-MDR2400ET Attention: Desmond Fraser I have a few comments on this Application. 1 The report limits the max output at 2458MHz to 18dBm; and the 731 states that the highest frequency is 2458MHz. However, the manual states that the device operates at 1MHz steps in two sub-band arrangements of 2410-2426 MHz and 2458-2474MHz. The report states that the software power selection will be limited to 18dBm at 2458 MHz. However, while the manual instructs the technician to adjust the power to match the receive levels using existing software, neither the manual nor the technical documentation states how the manufacturer tune up procedure sets this level to begin with. Please provide evidence that the maximum power level at 2458 MHz is tuned by the manufacturer to be no greater than 18dBm. 2 Please correct the manual to state only the 2458MHz frequency in the higher sub-band is used. 3 Since this is a Part 15 device the label requirements should be met. The FCC ID label for a Part 15 device is to include the two condition statement when size and other restrictions are not a concern. The size of the device is sufficiently large enough to allow the two condition statement on the FCC ID label on the device. Please explain why the label does not contain the FCC ID label as required in 15.19. For example, is it the manufacturers contention that under 15.19(a)(5) the device is of such use as not to be practicable? The manufacturer has customers who do not reside in FCC countries, and would like to have the added frequency and power range. Therefore, the manual revisions were made so that the FCC compliancy restrictions are clearly marked. 2. Please correct the manual to state only the 2458MHz frequency in the higher sub-band is used. Response : Please refer to the revised manual uploaded today. Page 13 (2.2.1.3) and 14, and page 42 (Table, see first parameter) have been modified to address this issue. 3. Since this is a Part 15 device the label requirements should be met. The FCC ID label for a Part 15 device is to include the two-condition statement when size and other restrictions are not a concern. The size of the device is sufficiently large enough to allow the two-condition statement on the FCC ID label on the device. The Electric field generated for a 1mW/cm 2 exposure (S) is calculated as follows: S = E 2 /Z where: S = Power density E = Electric field Z = Impedance.
