CAN I PLACE THE HOME/AWAY MODULE IN A DIFFERENT ROOM FROM THE MOTOROLA GATEWAY? Yes, the Home/Away Module uses radio frequencies to communicate with the Motorola Gateway. These frequencies can travel through objects such as walls, ceilings, and floors. HOW MANY HOME/AWAY MODULES CAN I USE WITH MY MOTOROLA GATEWAY? The Motorola Gateway can support up to 20 sensors. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. The picture was added to the external photos exhibit. 2) It appears that the timing plots provided are for the 19 msec keep alive packet. However, how about the normal Arm/Disarm transations. Please provide a plot over 1- 2 seconds showing these transactions. Additionally, it can not be adequately determined how many packets get sent over a 100 msec period of time for purposes of averaging. A cover letter has been written describing the architecture of their packet transmissions. It will be uploaded as a cover letter on the manufacturers letterhead. 3) Please explain the nature/theory of operation of the electronic key. Is this device RF or inductive in nature? Is it wireless, even if only a few cm? Note that either RF or inductive may require testing and approval as a RF TX if this is a wireless interface of RF or inductive nature. Please provide further information as necessary such as theory or schematics of electric eye as necessary. The electronic key is an iButton by maxim-ic. It is not RF in nature and must make contact. It employs a 1-wire serial interface.

American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 March 30, 2005 RE: Xanboo/Core Technologies FCC ID: OU4-XHA750 After a review of the submitted information, I have a few comments on the above referenced Application. 1) Please provide top and bottom photographs of the RF board by itself and a photograph of the main board with the RF module removed. 2) Proper FCC label consists of the term “FCC ID:”, not “FCC ID Number:”. Please correct. 3) Please justify the use of the DoC labeling information (FCC Logo and associated text). This labeling is reserved for particular approvals that do not appear to apply to this application (PC Peripheral, Stand alone RX, etc.). Please justify or correct the labeling. 4) User manual states 418 – 433 MHz, while the application cites 418 MHz only. Please explain. 5) Please explain the nature/theory of operation of the electronic key. Is this device RF or inductive in nature? Is it wireless, even if only a few cm? Note that either RF or inductive may require testing and approval as a RF TX if this is a wireless interface of RF or inductive nature. Please provide further information as necessary such as theory or schematics of electric eye as necessary. 6) This device appear to normally be mounted upright. Was it also tested in this position? Note that the antenna appears significantly longer than the external element alone and positioning of the unit and element in this position could have an effect. 7) The description of the device in the report tends to contradict the expected use of the device. It appears that this device arms/disarms a security system and does not actually lock or unlock a door. 8) It appears that the fundamental and 836 MHz harmonic may have been taken using a QP detector. Please note that this is only allowed if the repetition rate exceeds 20 Hz. Additionally, please note that you are not allowed to correct QP reading to make average readings. The FCC rules allow the use of Peak and Average, or QP alone. If QP measurements are made, they must be compared against the average limit alone. If these are QP measurements, please note that they exceed the average limit. Please review and correct as necessary. 9) It appears that 15.231(e) was selected for limits for this device. It is uncertain why this was necessary. Please explain. However, please note that compliance to 15.231 (a) must show compliance to the 5 second requirements for manual or automatic Transmissions, with exception of the keep alive transmissions since this device is used in security applications.. 10) Measurements > 1 GHz state they are performed at 1 meter, but there does not appear to be any distance correction. Please explain and/or correct as necessary. 11) Please provide a plot showing the period between transmissions. It can not adequately be determined if any other transmissions occur during 100 msec from the plots provided and this needs to be verified to support the average correction factor. z Page 2 March 31, 2005 Timothy R. The manual access request is 23.3 mS long, and the space between manual packet transmission is about 1 second because a button needs to be pushed after using the key fob. The averaging factor in the report has been changed to reflect the increase to 23.3 mS. A statement from Xanboo is included.

Exhibit H Description of Operation Xanboo/Core Technologies XHA750 The user inserts an electronic key that uniquely identifies him. The user then selects arming or unarming of the security system. By its nature, this product is unlikely to be used more than twice a day. The Home and Away unit sends a “Keep Live” 19 ms packet every 15 minutes. A ten second watchdog timer starts at each activation to prevent multiple transmissions even during multiple activations.

Maximum Duty Cycle (20.5 x 4) or 82 milliseconds per hour. When manually arming or disarming the Xanboo security system, the packet encludes the encrypted PIN number of the user. This packet is a maximum 5 Bytes longer, making a worse case packet length of 23.3 milliseconds. Please let me know if I can help you with anyother questions.
