American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 December 25, 2006 RE: Amigo Technology FCC ID: RC6AWI-926T I have a few comments on this Application. Depending on your responses, kindly understand there may be additional comments. 1.) Please provide larger, clearer External and Internal photos for this device. 2.) Kindly provide the exact label for this device as it will be marketed. Will the label be on the shield or the PC board? 3.) The block diagram provided is more of an interconnection diagram. Please provide a functional block diagram showing how this device creates, modulates and amplifies radio frequency emissions. 4.) The Operational Description is not appropriate for this device. An operational description should be a circuit level description of how radio frequency energy is created, modulated and amplified. In many ways a correctly built Operational Description will compliment the Block Diagram. 5.) Please provide AC power line conducted test setup photos in addition to the radiated setup photos in the Test Setup exhibit. 6.) The owners manual appears to indicate that the end user is able to set his country. This is not permitted for any WLAN products sold in North America. Please confirm with your client that the end user will not be allowed any means to set the device to channels outside of the expected CH 1-11 range. 7.) Please provide Spectral Power Density test over a minimum 1MHz span. Unless emissions are within 6dB of the limit, it is usually not necessary to provide a low, mid, and high channel result of this test for FCC work – a “worst case” for each of 802.11b and 802.11g is satisfactory. 8.) Please provide more details on the RF Power Output test. Please provide maximum power observed for all data rates. Show the highest observed power for each of low, mid and high channels in 802.11b and 802.11g. 9.) Please confirm that no Confidentiality Request will apply to any portion of this filing. 10.) Please double-check and make sure the FCC database shows the correct contact person, address, phone and email for Amigo Technology. William H. Graff President and Director of Engineering mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. z Page 2 December 25, 2006 Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the sender.

American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 January 10, 2007 RE: Amigo Technology FCC ID: RC6AWI-926T I have a few comments on this Application. Depending on your responses, kindly understand there may be additional comments. 1.) The block diagram provided still needs some work. This document should parallel the active RF devices used in the Schematics. Please provide a functional block diagram showing how this device creates, modulates and amplifies radio frequency emissions. 2.) The Operational Description is still weak. Remember, an operational description should be a circuit level description of how radio frequency energy is created, modulated and amplified. The Operational Description should compliment the Block Diagram. 3.) Your band edge test results Section 8.4 of the Test Report shows a “distance extrapolation factor”. This is not accounted for in the procedure Section 8.1. This is a radiated measurement, and I do not believe that a ~9.54dB extrapolation could apply. The limit in the 15.205 restricted bands is 54dBuV based upon “average” settings as illustrated in ANSI C63.4. Assuming you have a “true” CW signal, this would be a measurement at 3M with a 1MHz RBW and a 10Hz VBW. Were you making measurements at a distance other than 3M? If so, this needs to be identified. You also claim to have made measurements on 4 bit rates. There are typically more than 4 bit rates available in any 802.11b/g card. 4.) I went back and reviewed again Section 3.6 of the Test Report. Please note that although it is not specifically excluded in ANSI C63.4, testing at frequencies above 1GHz should not automatically be performed at 1meter. There are two concerns: (1.) the 1 x 1.5M table top is much larger than the test distance, and (2.) testing so close negates the potential effect of the ground plane. Your laboratory equipment should be very capable of making these measurements at 3M up to, at minimum, 6GHz. Please review your procedures. 5.) Please confirm that no Confidentiality Request will apply to any portion of this filing. 6.) The FCC database shows the contact person associated with Amigo Technology is Ken Chen. This is not the person who has signed the Form 731 or the Agent Authorization letter. How do I know Elf has the authority to sign any documents on behalf of Amigo? William H. Operational Description

AWI-926T Wireless 802.11b/g Modem Card Operational Description This device is a Wireless 802.11b/g PCI Card which operates in the 2.4GHz frequency spectrum in the 802.11b/g mode with throughput of up to 54Mbps which OFDM technique will be applied. If the signal to noise radio is too poor which could not support 54Mbps, the11Mbps data rate with CCK, DSSS technique will be applied. The transmitter of the EUT is powered by host equipment and connected with managing equipment through PCI. The antenna is a 1/4 Dipole Sleeve Antenna. Under normal use condition, the user has to keep at least 20cm separation distance between radiator and the body of the user. For other detailed instructions, please refer to the user manuals.

Introduction In this document, we try to prove the safety of radiation harmfulness to the human body for our product. The limit for Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) specified in FCC 1.1310 is followed. The Gain of the antenna used in this product is measured in a Fully Anechoic Chamber (FAC), and also the maximum total power input to the antenna is measured. Through the Friis transmission formula and the maximum gain of the antenna, we can calculate the distance, away from the product, where the limit of MPE is reached. Although the Friis transmission formula is a far field assumption, the calculated result of that is an over-prediction for near field power density. We will take that as the worst case to specify the safety range. 2. Description of EUT EUT : Wireless PCI Adapter Applicant : Amigo Technology Inc. 1F,No. 285,Sec 2,Ti-Ding Blvd., Nei Hu, Taipei, Taiwan 114, R.O.C. Manufacturer : FAIRWAY ELECTRONIC CO.,LTD. Classification The antenna of this product, under normal use condition, is at least 20cm away from the body of the user. Warning statement to the user for keeping at least 20cm or more separation distance with the antenna should be included in users manual. So, this device is classified as Mobile Device. 2/2 Report Number: MLT0610P15004 4.
