Bluetooth ® 221 Headset Important information Important information on safe and efficient operation. Read this information before using your headset. This product is CE, FCC, BQB marked. Please note that this product uses radio frequency bands not available for use within some areas of the EU. This product is intended to be used in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and within EFTA in Iceland, Norway and Switzerland. Users are not permitted to make changes or modify the device in any way. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. Introduction Bluetooth ® headset is a lightweight wireless device utilizing Bluetooth ® wireless technology. The headset contains a microphone and a receiver. It provides hands-free communication using mobile phones, and the power is provided by a Lithium Ion rechargeable battery. Any device that you want to use with this Bluetooth ® headset must be compatible with Bluetooth ® technology version 1.1 or above. The device must also support the same profiles as the headset. Package Contents 1. One Bluetooth headset. 2. One adaptor 3. One user guide 4. One neck strap 5. One ear hook Wearing preference Left Side Right Side 1. The headset can be worn on both sides. Just plug the ear hook from the preferred side on the headset, and put the receiver in the ear. 2. The ear hook is slightly flexible so that you can adjust it to fit the contour of your ear. The angle and depth are also adjustable for wearing comfort. Bluetooth ® Headset Features 1. Charging port 2. Talk/Volume Down button 3. Talk/Volume Up button 4. LED indication 5. Microphone 6. Ear hook 7. Ear hook socket (Back of the headset) 8. Speaker (Back of the headset) Preparing to use your Bluetooth ® headset 1. Charging and battery time It is our recommendation to charge the headset for 8 hours before first use. A. Connect the adaptor to an electrical outlet. B. Open the charging port cover and then plug the adaptor's connector into the charging port. C. While charging, the blue LED light will stay solid on; after charging is completed, the LED will flash once every 5 seconds. Then unplug the adaptor's connector from the headset and disconnect the adaptor from the electrical outlet. Close the charging port cover. D. Charging time is ab out 2.5-4 hours. 2. Pairing procedure Before using your headset for the first time, you must pair it with a Bluetooth ® mobile phone or audio gateway. A. With your headset turned off, press and hold the Talk/Volume Up button for 7 seconds until the blue LED flashes rapidly, indicating that the headset is in pairing mode B. Use your phone’s menu to search fo r Bluetooth ® audio devices. The phone should indicate it has found the "HH221" headset. Select this. C. When asked for a passkey, enter: “1234”. Your phone will confirm that pairing has been successful D. If pairing does not occur as expected, turn off both the phone and the headset and wait 10 seconds before repeating steps A - C Turning your headset ON and OFF 1. To switch your headset ON, press the Talk/Volume Up button for about 5 seconds until the blue LED turns solid on. Press briefly once more to link your headset to your mobile phone. 2. To switch your headset OFF, press the Talk/Volume Up button for 3 seconds until the LED flashes, and then the headset will turn off. Answering a call If there is an incoming call, a ring tone will sound in your headset; you can press either the Talk/Volume Up or Talk/ Volume Down button on headset to answer the call. If your cell phone supports auto-answering, the headset will take the incoming call automatically and you don't need to press any button. Making a call with the headset by voice dialing If your Bluetooth phone supports voice dial, you can use this feature with the headset. Please refer to your phone's user guide for more information on voice dial. 1. Voice dial function on your phone must be turned on and voice tags must be stored. 2. On the headset, press either the Talk/Volume Up or Talk/Volume Down button once. 3. A short tone will prompt you and you can speak the “voice tag” that was stored in the phone’s voice dial phone book. 4. The phone automatically dials the contact you’ve selected, and you can see the details of the call on the phone display. 5. When connected, you can communicate normally using the headset. Making a call from the mobile phone keypad 1. Dial the phone number using the keypad on the mobile phone. 2. To send the call, press the phone's SEND/CALL key. 3. The call will then be transferred automatically to the headset when connection is made. Ending a call from the headset To end a call, press and hold the Talk/Volume Up button for 5 seconds. Or you can end the call from the keypad on the phone. When the other party hangs up the phone, the call ends automatically. Rejecting an incoming call To reject an incoming call, press and hold the Talk/Volume Up button for 5 seconds on the headset. Note: This function only works on Bluetooth ® phones that support Hands-free profile. Call transfer When in conversation, you may transfer voice from headset to phone. Press the Talk/Volume Down button for 5 seconds to make the transfer. For some mobile phones, you can short press the Talk/Volume Down button the transfer back to the headset. Note: This function only works on Bluetooth ® phones that support Hands-free profile Last number redial When the headset is in standby condition (not in conversation), click the Talk/Volume Up button twice within 1 second, and your phone will redial the last number that you called.
