Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the LAN port on the back of the TPL-111BR, and the other end to a standard port on a network device, for example, a PC. 2. Connect the power cable to the TPL-111BR, and then plug the power cable into a power outlet. 2 2.2 Configure the TCP/IP Settings of your PC Before you begin Make sure that you get setup information you need from your Internet Service Provider (ISP). To set up Windows 2000 1. Right-click on My Network Places icon on the desktop and then click Properties in menu. 2. Double-click Local Area Connection icon and then click Properties button. 3. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties button. There are two ways to assign an IP address. You can either obtain an IP address automatically or specify an IP address. If you want to obtain an IP address automatically 4. Check the radio button for Obtain an IP address automatically. 5. Then you have to assign Domain Name System (DNS) server’s IP address. Two methods are available: automatically obtain an IP address or manually specify an IP address for DNS server. If you can obtain DNS server address automatically, check the radio button for Obtain DNS server address automatically and proceed to step 10. Or if you can configure a DNS server address, then proceed to step 9. If you want to specify an IP address manually Contact your network administrator first to obtain a valid IP address for you to use. This IP address must be a unique address in the range of addresses that are available for your network. 6. Check the radio button for Specify an IP address. In the IP address box, type the assigned IP address. The default IP is 10.0.0.XXX.[any one besides 10.0.0.2]. 7. In the Subnet mask box, type the subnet mask of your network. The default is 255.255.255.0. 8. In the Default gateway box, set the gateway address. The default is 10.0.0.2 9. Check the radio button for Use the following DNS server addresses. In the Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server boxes, input the IP addresses of DNS Server provided by your ISP. 10. Click OK button in the TCP/IP Properties window to complete the PC configuration, and click Close or the OK button to close the Network window. 11. To link your PC together with TPL-111BR by plugging an Ethernet cable or making a Wireless connection. 3 12. Open your web browser. Enter http://10.0.0.2 in the web browser’s address field, and press the Enter key. 13. A Login window will appear. Enter admin in the User Name field and enter admin in the Password field. 3 Basic &Homeplug network key setting 3.1 Basic setting 1. Set the router log in user name and password at the basic setting 4 4 LAN setting 1. Set the LAN IP and subnet mask 2. Set the LAN DHCP server enable or disable 3. FCC ID: RYK-WHRB100 Report No. RF931104L08B Operational Description This device is a 125 Mbps 802.11g Wireless Powerline Router which operates in the 2.4GHz frequency spectrum with throughput of up to 54Mbps which OFDM technique will be applied. If the signal to noise radio is too poor which could not support 54Mbps, the 11Mbps data rate with CCK technique will be applied. The transmitter of the EUT is powered by AC line. The antenna is Monopole antenna with UFL connector. Under normal use condition, the user has to keep at least 20cm separation distance between radiator and the body of the user. The other instruction, please have a look at the users manual.
FCC ID: RYK-WHRB100 Report No: SA931104L08B 1 RF EXPOSURE REPORT REPORT NO.: SA931104L08B MODEL NO.: EP-6615, TPL-111BR ACCORDING: FCC Guidelines for Human Exposure IEEE C95.1 APPLICANT: SparkLAN Communications, Inc. ADDRESS: 3Fl., No. 246, Sec. 1, Neihu Road., Neihu Chiu, Taipei Taiwan 114, R.O.C. ISSUED BY: Advance Data Technology Corporation TEST LOCATION: No. 19, Hwa Ya 2nd Rd., Wen Hwa Tsuen, Kwei Shan Hsiang, Taoyuan Hsien 333, Taiwan, R.O.C. FCC ID: RYK-WHRB100 Report No: SA931104L08B 2 RF Exposure Measurement (Mobile Device) 1. Introduction In this document, we try to prove the safety of radiation harmfulness to the human body for our product. The limit for Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) specified in FCC 1.1310 is followed. The Gain of the antenna used in this product is measured in a Fully Anechoic Chamber (FAC) calibrated for antenna measurement in ADT, and also the maximum total power input to the antenna is measured. Through the Friis transmission formula and the maximum gain of the antenna, we can calculate the distance, away from the product, where the limit of MPE is reached. Although the Friis transmission formula is a far field assumption, the calculated result of that is an over-prediction for near field power density. We will take that as the worst case to specify the safety range. 2. RF Exposure Limit According to FCC 1.1310: The criteria listed in the following table shall be used to evaluate the environmental impact of human exposure to radio-frequency (RF) radiation as specified in 1.1307(b) LIMITS FOR MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE EXPOSURE (MPE) Frequency Range (MHz) Electric Field Strength (V/m) Magnetic Field Strength (A/m) Power Density (mW/cm 2 ) Average Time (minutes) (A)Limits For Occupational / Control Exposures 300-1500......F/3006 1500-100,000......56 (B)Limits For General Population / Uncontrolled Exposure 300-1500......F/15006 1500-100,000......1.030 F = Frequency in MHz FCC ID: RYK-WHRB100 Report No: SA931104L08B 3 3. Friis Formula Friis transmission formula : Pd = (Pout*G) / (4*pi*r 2 ) where Pd = power density in mW/cm 2 Pout = output power to antenna in mW G = gain of antenna in linear scale Pi = 3.1416 R = distance between observation point and center of the radiator in cm If we know the maximum Gain of the antenna and the total power input to the antenna, through the calculation, we will know the MPE value at distance r. Ref. : David K. Cheng, Field and Wave Electromagnetics, Second Edition, Page 640, Eq. (11-133). 4 EUT Operating condition The software provided by Manufacturer enabled the EUT to transmit and receive data at lowest, middle and highest channel individually. 5. Classification The antenna of the product, under normal use condition, is at least 20cm away from the body of the user. Warming statement for keeping 20cm separation distance and the prohibition of operating next to a person has been printed on the user’s manual. So, this product is classified as the Mobile Device.
